security deposit
Does anyone know if a landlord can charge a late fee six years later? Our old landlord (who we used to get along with quite well) has decided to only pay a small percentage of our security deposit citing late rent payments 6 years ago. is there a statue of limitations on that sort of thing?

Thank you everyone.
I have discussed the issue with the Attorney Generals office and i now have a case officer who will be working on my behalf to get my cash back. according to the AG, My landlord cannot use the security for anything other than repairs above and beyond wear and tear and back rent. as neither of these are the issues i can expect a free fight courtesy of NY State. Finally my tax dollars at work.
In a few months i will post the SOB's name so he goes down in history.
