This is an absolutely charming shop, my little nieces adore her designs, and I am so glad she opened up a permanent spot! Welcome to Red Hook!

Totally in support of this idea, the benefits are powerful and numerous! Bring on the Trolley! Right down Van Brunt to Fairway would be beyond excellent.

I love this place!!! The Deliciosa endive/goat cheese/beet salad is my favorite, I am getting hungry just thinking about it. The pizza's are perfect: perfectly cooked, and with just the right amount of interesting toppings. It's not inexpensive, but somewhere in the middle. I never feel ripped off, but I can't afford to eat here more than once or twice a week.

Now this is going to be really interesting to follow!

What's the problem with the kitchen? I think it's beautiful! Wish I could afford this place, overall, stunning.

This is the most delicious Mexican food I've had in New York, unfailingly fresh and delectable. They make their own salsas, and they are delicately nuanced and delectable. This place has spoiled me for Mexican food anywhere else in New York.. I love the cheese and chicken burritos with smoky mole' sauce dish best. The corn with fresh cheese is also just great, exactly what you want it to be. The prices are also extremely reasonable for the high quality of food. I've eaten here numerous times since they opened, as it's on my way home from work, and I've ordered takeout and delivery many times, too. Have not been disappointed once.

This new shop is a charming breath of fresh air on an otherwise mundane block. I stopped in there yesterday to check it out, and left with a beautiful McCoy planter. The budding housewares department is populated with lovely vintage pieces, very reasonably priced. I hope they do well, and will be stopping in for flowers as soon as that department goes live! Best of luck!

Oh, cue the violins! How will the poor downtrodden drug dealers eat? What horseshit.

Hardly expensive? More like very. Go check out the prices on the website. I feel silly spending $500. on a dress.

I'm not hating either, I love to visit Bird in PS, even though it's mostly too expensive for me. But this series is getting delusional, like pretending nothing's wrong. Meanwhile, many stores of Bird's ilk are shutting down, more every day. I think January '09 is going to be a bloodbath of commercial closings.

Cork floors are lovely, though.:-/

The strongest, most tasty coffee on Vanderbilt, and I am obsessed with the light and crusty almond croissant from Balthazar. My favorite sandwich is the Merguez {lamb sausage} with lots of mustard. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Obviously, I love this place, it is a must on weekends. Especially when the weather is crappy, it has a cozy and warm atmosphere that can't be beat. And in good weather, eating outside in the beautiful garden is great! For dinner, my fave is the goat cheese and leek crepe, satisfying but light.
