Termites Infection
I found termites in the basement, eating away from a join and floor. Called termix for a free inspection. The inspector spent a few mins. and extracted some termites, but when the time came to discuss posible treatment, he didn't see to be very knowlageble. I don't think the inspection was very well done, but i guess it was free and just a way to get an estimate on how much is will their service cost.
I would like referals to other companies to compare service plans/Treatment options, etc.
Please, if you know of any one, let me know. I will call parkway exterminating, as I saw them being recomended, but I would like to know of other companies.
Thanks.

Window glass brooken, what to do
My 2nd floor kitchen window (top part that faces out) is cracked for over 1 year now. This is a regular probably vinyl replacement window.
Our local glassier told us we can take the window out and bring it for them to fix.
I'm not handy and being a 2nd floor window, I’m afraid I will break it or worst yet, it will fell down into the deck.
Can anyone recommend someone that will come to the house and perform the necessary work?
Or will this require a brand new window, I hope not : (
Gas Water Heater Died
Last night our old gas water heater died. It was leaking from the seams and it's time to replace. Our question is who is best to do this work? Keyspan? Sears?
Also, we have a 50 gallon for 2 people (2nd apartment has it's own water heater). Is this to large for our needs? Should we buy smaller, 40 galons? We don't run dishwasher, just basic water usage inside the house.

Thanks Master Plvmber, I do think is a valid point. Went with keyspan, as they where the only one's that i found to do the job right away. I got a 12 year part and tank waranty, where keyspan is the only person i have to callfor service. Hopefully this water heater will last longer than the old 5year warranty one (which lasted around 15 years). Time will tell.

Thanks for the comments. I called keyspan and they gave me a quote for a 40gal of $690 + $25 to remove the old one. 12Yr warranty.
My husband went to Sears and they quoted him $1200 for a 50gal. I'm still researching, but might go with keyspan as they can install on Monday. Thanks again.

Just wondering (no "right" answer here).
Does the quality of the installation matter to you?
Why aren't you asking local plumbing companies?
Do you know what that warranty gets you if the appliance fails?

Guest 4:04PM, I think that you were hearing
the sounds of a mouse inside your walls...
that season when the critters scramble around...
I always thought that Termites silently
gnawed away at the wood structures in a home.
Just remember, a mouse in the wall is better than bats in your belfry! :)

Thanks Honeycut, i will give them a call.
4:04: I found the infestation by spotting "wood" dust around a basement window wood frame. By taking a closer look at a beam and with a flashlight I was able to see some eaten up wood rows. Didn't hear noises.
