Per the DOB Web site, there is indeed a stop work order still open on 304 Bergen from earlier in the year, which appears to be part of the same property (probably the parcel closest to the corner, since the use type on record for 304 is "Gas Station"). But a passel of demolition and construction permits were issued a month ago, which I imagine must effectively supersede the stop work order.
There was also a citation earlier in the spring for inadequate fencing, I think. They're putting up new construction fencing this week, which should cure that one.
I'm watching this development closely, since I work at home, look out on it directly, and will have to hear and see everything that happens over there for the next few months. So far they have been polite, have kept the noise to a minimum before 8am, have not hogged more than a reasonable amount of parking frontage, and have taken steps to keep the dust from rising during demolition, all of which bodes well for a survivable construction process.
