carpentry recs

I would like to build a wall in the hallway of my brownstone to separate my duplex from the upper two floors. I would also like to build a closet and open a new doorway into the parlor.

Any recommendations for contractors or carpenters to do this job.

MYSTERY: hot water suddenly coming from cold water taps

Late last night hot water started coming from my cold water taps. I've had no recent plumbing done. It is happening on all floors of the house. Any idea what the cause might be?

Does anyone know an electrician willing to rewire an old fan?

I just did my stoop with Masonry Brown from Benjamin Moore. It is a close match.

I just filled out the form. I have a lot of stuff. Am in Carroll Gardens as well.

I got it at Home Depot.

I live just around the block. Not such an easy commute unless you bike. I also think not so cheap unless you can bunk with my rent controlled tenant who pays $275. But great neighborhood.

Well it's not too far from the train station which is fairly quick to Manhattan, no?

Right now I've negotiated the rent to 1550 for one bedroom ~650 sq ft, but I was hoping that I could get them to go lower.

Did you try Pintchik on Flatbush? They have a secret plumbing section in the basement.

After someone graffitied our painted brownstone we went to Pinchik to get a paint match. Although I had selected something from Benjamin Moore, Pinchik had a more perfect color already available. They just grabbed it off a shelf behind the counter. Now you can hardly tell where we had to repaint. If you paint the treads of the stair, make sure to mix some sand in the paint for traction.
