Furniture Painting and Work

Hi -- WE just commissioned a media cabinet out of MDF. Our original craftsman is out of town, and we need to have some changes made to the face of each drawer, and the whole thing needs to be painted in black and white. The pattern is geometric -- we have pix of what we want done. Can anyone recommend a vendor?

Birdfeeders in Brooklyn

Does anyone out there have a successful birdfeeder setup? I am about to undertake setting up a few birdhouses in our backyard and am looking for any helpful hints or suggestions. Thank you!

When to Reinforce Floor Beams?

I think the beams in our kitchen floor (on the garden floor of a 1896 brownstone) need to be reinforced. The floor slopes towards the back of the house, and I get nervous walking around on it. My sense is that the previous owners put in a heavy sink/island, and it's affecting the beams. Then again, this may be a purely psychological reaction... Can anyone recommend a contractor/woodworker to explore this for us? We would appreciate hearing from other homeowners about brownstone floor/beam issues. Thanks!

Wow. I want to hire the seller to stage & photograph my house when I sell it -- very impressive presentation.

I would be cautious about the rent potential -- we live a block away, and when we bought our house we were told we could rent our 2nd unit for over $2K per month. We found on the open market we got 20% less than that.
