Note: this is not defending Corcoran or the builder.

But, there was a massive amount of flooding on that day. I remember all of the drains backing up in PS and PH, my house included:

funstraw - When I moved from the co-op that i was living in, one of the doormen gave me a book of drawings by Rembrandt.

Another idea: make a charitable donation in his/her name. It sort of skirts the eithics issues.

It's a shame when I agree with a crackpot.

As a dog owner Prospect park go-er and I agree with *some* of the things he says; i.e. Dogs on the trails, after hours off leash etc… Pepper spray? He’s out of his tree.
The rangers should ticket people that are violating the law. Dog people are low hanging fruit; I would like to see a ranger bust up a soccer game on a Sunday afternoon.

There’s a patch of grass on the north part of the long meadow that has been perpetually reseeded for the past decade. As soon as the fences are down it takes only a couple of weekends before it’s a dirt/mud patch.

This block is just outside the proposed historic district.

Just like jdreiblatt said, it's a great co-op.

Wine lover,

Just to correct some points:
AY is closer to to some areas in PS than this site.

PS9 is a great school. We had the option to send our kid to a number of citywide gifted and talented schools, but we decided to keep her at PS9.

Washington still has away to go (unless you need a flat fixed).

I've said this before:

Get the Nolo book:

It pretty much covers everything.

Full disclosure, the owner is a friend of mine.

Discount Office Furniture. Their warehouse is on Bergen.

Here's a good article on why the burbs aren't the destination they once were (thanks kottke.org):

It's evolution, not revolution.

I've been there.

I remember looking down the stairs into the basement and saying to myself "damn, the floor looks glossy," before saying and cleaning up what was down there.

The only thing I'll add is not to get spooked (and take a low ball offer) if the first open house is not a mosh pit.

In my experience, people put up barriers when purchasing "we'll look for a place after New Years" etc..

I would love to have somone interpret the last sale in 2006 ($26,000?).

The owner cleans up the lot about once a year. The tipping point (construction wise) will be when they remove the gigantic boulder.

"More money than he deserved" Classic nonsense by funstraw. Sometimes I wonder if half of these posters actually have real jobs, or are they just wannabe hipsters posing as; out of work graphic designers. For the record, you shouldn't feel obligated to give your lawyer anything. A nice bottle of wine or a couple of broadway tickets if you're sentimental. As the others have said: Referrals are the best gift.

Hi everyone - OP here. Thanks for the responses. Referrals, of course!

Here is my attorney's name and number. He was fantastic and really made this process go smoothly. I won't go into all the nonsense that transpired waiting for this thing to close, but he stayed on top of this process for 7 months with professionalism, responsiveness and a patience (with my questions as a first-time buyer):

Lawrence Gerson [lgersonesq at aol.com]. I recommend him 100%.
