Sans Souci was the name of a palace built by Henri Christope in Haiti. It was supposedly named after a former opponent of his during the time of the Haitian Revolution, who was born in Africa and widley known for his courage and valor.

i am shocked and disappointed that brownstoner would publish this post. jscheff, i recommend that you begin doing your homework prior to running your mouth off.
jo anne simone has been an outspoken critic of atlantic yards. real reform brooklyn is a partisan blog in favor of evan thies. to put the repute of the new york times editorial in question based on such flimsy evidence seems like poor journalistic work on brownstoner's part.
i would recommend taking this post down to save yourself from further embarrassment and to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.
