Opalia on Atlantic is the best flower shop in Brooklyn. Expensive, but extremely well-curated, and worth it for special occasions. For more everyday flowers I go to the Union Square greenmarket on Saturdays and buy from Jack's. His flowers are beautiful, local, long-lasting, and incredibly cheap. Last week I got a huge arrangement of cherry blossoms for $10, and they're just now hitting their peak.

The panelle special is the best value in the neighborhood, and I've always found the service exceptionally friendly.
Well, that seems like a fruitful use of taxpayer dollars.

This is my go-to neighborhood spot. The atmosphere is great--especially the backyard in the summer--and the food is consistently good, if not particularly memorable. I've eaten several dozen meals there and the only really bad one was a gristly steak au poivre. The mustard crusted salmon is terrific, as is the roast chicken, and the salad nicoise is a nice stand-by option. The prices went up recently, but it's still a relative bargain for the neighborhood. I like Bar Tabac, but I vastly prefer Robin. It's also a really good place for group events.

Hi, I do not live there (I am in New Mexico) but did come across this post because I have mysterious bread thing going on.
I moved into a small community recently.
On to the point, 2 times there has been bread left at my gate. The only times I have actually gotten the bread was when I have been away for the night, which has been 2 times. Not just white bread, but Pueblo Indian white bread. They are pretty large loves, baked in outdoor ovens. They have not been wrapped, but are left laying on the soil, in front of the gate.
I was hoping to shed some light on this, but the most information was from this post. I doubt it was a squirrel. I really did get a kick out of all your responces.
