Amazing Electrician

I'm doing a large renovation in my 1 br in pk slope. I was looking to relocate several receptacles and light fixtures. The initial quote from my contractors electrician came in at $150 per point. I contacted Russell Yevgeniy from RVA Electric and he did the job for less than half of that. He was on time, very professional and did a great job. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Great Local Plumber - Done Rite

I've had 2 great experiences with Mo from Done Rite plumbing. He is VERY reasonable and extremely reliable. He is the preferred plumber for our co-op. He's done work in West Brooklyn for many years.

He can be contacted at 917-757-4061

ceiling soundproofing

I need to install soundproofing in my ceiling (bad footfall noise) I've looked at all of the info on the forum (isolation clips, green glue, quiet rock, etc). Does anyone have a recommendation for a contractor that has successfully completed one of these projects? I'm not exactly a DIY'er. I saw one ref to Dan Avallone in BK. I called City Soundproofing and they estimate $35 per sq foot, which would be about $15,000 for my tiny apartment.

Any recommendations or info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks all

consistently dry and overpriced pastries. so many better choices in the Slope. Trois Pommes blows this place away.

I'd be happy to share my experiences with Prates Plastering with you. Please feel free to contact me.

$150 seems about par for the course in NYC. You should call Russell Yevgeniy of RVA Electric. He charged me around $75 a point. My project was a total gut so it might be a little more if he has to fish. He is licensed, very professional and is always punctual.

What does $$$ a point installation mean?

I have not done it but I've done a lot of reading on it, and I am budgeting $200 a point for an old house where each wire will have to be fished through small holes in the wall. Not a gut job.

Of course I'd be thrilled if I could find someone to do it for less.

Cookie, a point just means an outlet or lighting fixture or appliance or whatever -- where the electrical wire ends. (And what it powers.)

Newbie here so i apologise in advance for any confusion! I know nothing about wiring but i have found diagrams etc online to look at and come to some assumptions.....

I have a tokai 'springy sound' electric guitar that all seems to be wired fine and has a ground wire from the bridge to the pots. So i am assuming here that the electric guitar is not a problem.

The amplifiers (one a large monitor amp and the other a small practice amp) give an awful hum and lots of 'snap crackle and pop' noises when my guitar is plugged in. One amplifier is a 15 watt guitar that has been electrically tested and yet creates all this noise. The large monitor also gives the same amount of noise.
