"Ohmigod, if I had a child in that school I would be pretty unhappy. "

...or a child that lives nearby - let's face it, this office is smack-dab in the middle of a family neighborhood...

Miquelpakalns,
Second review that supports the theory you're an ageist. What happens when you grow up?

A great looking place, too bad the food wasn't great. I agree with BH76, a lot of hype about nothing. How did this place manage to get a Michelin star?

pierre wrote a review about Lunetta on August 25, 2008 1:59 PM

Lunetta is great as a last minute stop for casual Italian fare - I recommend sitting by the kitchen to watch the chefs prepare the food - very fun to have a glass of wine and sample the goods, which are evenly fresh and delicous.

sorry to disappoint, haven't been...

11217,
So gruff...I did like Saul's (and stated so). Btw, there are many restaurants in Brooklyn I do like - am waiting and willing to write on them when they are mentioned.
oh, and I'm not a chef and I have no agenda other than giving my opinion. Our food that evening at this place was rank. Other blogs have indicated that others have had the same experience as us.

pierre wrote a review about Convivium Osteria on August 18, 2008 2:48 PM

Well I must disagree with those opinions that the food is good. We went for dinner last month and the food was not bad, it was awful! We could only guess that the chef was out of town, but for such a highly touted restaurant, or any restaurant actually, this is unforgivable.

The view from the roof dinning area is AMAZING, even if the food isn't. And, okay, I did see a dead cockroach on the stairs leading up to the restaurant the last time I was there. Thank goodness for their margaritas - I forgot about that little critter in no time.

Can be inconsistent, but when it's good, it's very good.

apparently I was wrong.

The food was awful. Not much more can be said.

pierre wrote a review about Flatbush Farm on July 31, 2008 12:44 PM

This place is totally over-hyped. The service is spotty, the food - just okay. I have a problem with high prices for "farm-style" food when they serve the food alongside with paper napkins and the wine is served (no matter what the price or how fine a wine)in thick juice glasses. I don't mind paying the price for farm friendly food if it is good, but clearly here the food is just okay so the question arises...why the absurd attitude?

pierre wrote a review about Franny's on July 29, 2008 10:59 AM

I'm adding to the crowd who feels this place is over-rated. Been there once and the food was NOT worth the wait or hassle. Not bad, mind you, but not worth a trip back.

Convicted sex offenders + lower school students...hmmmm, doesn't take a genius to know that this is a time bomb waiting to explode. Wonder what the headmaster will write then...

What I can't believe is that St. Ann's is officially quiet on this subject - what does THAT mean?
