"what kinds of republican things would you want to grow in a community garden"
Same stuff they grow in Iowa (corn), Ohio (cucumbers, berries, onions), Illinois, etc, but without the lead content of wholesome organic veggies grown in our wonderful Brooklyn soil along the Gowanus....
There's a couple of good reasons produce is grown upstate and not with in the city limits,'get your Greenpoint Peppers!, naturaly florescent in green, red and orange neon'

I still gotta ask... where's the insulation on the outside wall. Styrofoam, maybe... Paperbacked?-can't see it.
Sound attenuation?!?!? "the sound attenuation was noticeable. Not as good as the triple pane windows we used at J Condo, but we don’t have noise anywhere near to the decibel level of the Manhattan Bridge trains either"
Yup, there are still no buses or cement trucks or cars on 3rd ave- just eco-friendly bikes and pedestrians.

"workers who toil with few complaints about the weather, noise, or sanitary facilities. As they know, construction isn’t for wusses.".... and neither is the real estate market, grrrr, cue The Internationale.
Now what about the insulation on the exterior walls...? 3rd ain't that quite, what with all the buses and trucks.

I, for myself, am not sick of opposite minority opinions. Prior to the Doom, all I heard was 'buy now, you can't miss', 'Property always goes up', 'You're just not smart if you aren't buying'. Even the NYTimes, that bastion of real estate boosterism is running stories on the turn of consensus (5/24 Arts & Leisure, PAGE 18 TELEVISION: "Reality Check for Real Estate Shows")
As a renter looking to buy, what's wrong with the 50% metric- it's easy to understand. As to basis in reality... stranger things have happened...
And as to some one paying a price that we might not agree with... big deal- YOU don't have to make the mortgage, the buyer seems happy to pay the seller's price.
Ain't Capitalism wonderful!
