Contractor recommendation
I am hoping some of you might have a contractor you would recommend for a gut renovation of a small bathroom in Windsor Terrace. We are renovation virgins and don’t really know where to begin. A neighbor recommended Transcend Construction. We hope to have several contractors meet with us and give us bids. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

We are pretty much looking for no frills ourselves, so I would love to see what he has done for you and I will definitely contact him for a visit and bid. Email address is: paizhestar@hotmail.com
I agree with you about the HGTV bit. I really must stop watching that network; it is addictive. It is all relative though, for what we paid for our 900 Sq Ft 1 bedroom in Brooklyn we could buy an honest to god mansion in Texas!
Thanks so much!!

Dismay? We are in the process of getting bids and $5500 is half of what we have been told by most for what you describe above (minus the washer and dryer hook up). Were you pleased with Jamal? Do you have pictures of your finished bath that you might be willing to share? Thanks!

If I can keep the lamps with the shades (still wrapped in the plastic) than I just might buy it; full asking! Seriously this place is what keeps stagers in business, but regardless seems overpriced for what is underneath the obvious decorative distraction.

VF- I actually saw several nice comments about JT Stewart on Brownstoner; maybe one was yours. We are going to meet with him next week. Thanks for the thumbs up!

those don't look like pit bulls.

Well new2hood, they probably don't look like pitbulls to you because I don't wrap tow chains around their necks and make them run the tread mill to pump up. They certainly aren't poodles!

nice pet family, love that cat's coat!
now that they're banning pits and other big dogs from the projects, i suspect the local shelters will see a big influx. sucks.

Yes Dave, that was my Burmese, Saba. Recently passed at the ripe old age of 19! That little six pound, declawed cat was the leader of the pack!
Thanks Jimmy! She was beautiful and her twin brother was too(he passed at 17). Banning pits in the projects is good, it will keep the thugs from owning them. Only problem is the shelters will be swarmed and a lot of those dogs won't be able to be placed and simply won't make it. Truly sad.
