cast iron repair - dip?
I see notes on the forum about dipping shutters, but what of dipping cast iron fences? I believe I heard someone did this. Any thoughts? I used Vinnie's on Bergen before but if anyone had any previous experience with this I'd love to hear.

Stopped by yesterday to buy a bike for one of my kids - $170. I had bought at least two small bikes from Target which were much cheaper but fell apart quickly.
You get what you pay for. No complaints from me. And if my kid's bike does fall apart they are right there. Target isn't going to help me.

Ethiopian should do very well in Fort Greene. There is a void since Keur n'Deye left. I've never been to the Ethiopian place on 4th Ave - not very convenient location for me.
And what was in this space before? Was this where the New Orleans restaurant was? I could never figure that place out.

If not open, go to Paisanos on Smith Street. Outstanding selection, outstanding service, seemingly always open.

How can we possibly get an affordable butcher if the rent is going to be so high?
I don't have much hope for good quality meats in FG/CH. They need cheap space for decent prices and it isn't going to happen here.
Yes, you have to go out of the neighborhood, but nothing compares to Paisanos on Smith between Wyckoff and Bergen. Mean selection, sweet staff, endless hours, and 2 stops on the G-train.

I used to live on Tiffany, but across the street. The BQE is dirty. If this apartment faces over the BQE then don't plan on opening your windows, ever.
The neighborhood is great if you really like walking. But to buy something upscale over there doesn't make sense to me. Resale could be a big problem.

I've been here twice and the food was pretty bad both times. Worse however was the service. Intolerably bad.
What happened to Keur n'Deye? I really thought that place was exceptional, and I was really sad to see it go. I wasn't crazy about the renovation, but loved the people there.

Hopefully customer service will be better at this new place. Seven Corners was awful. Ask a question and receive a GLARE. I gladly walked to Sister's Hardware to avoid 7 corners.
