Fire Escape Alternative
Our 4-story pre-war co-op has tiny little balconies, but no fire escapes, for the rear apartments. Incredibly, this isn't a code violation, but we want to make the apartments safer. Any thoughts on the detachable ladders that are out there on the market as fire escape alternatives? Thanks!

Gutter guards
Our co-op's gutter guard clogs often, which causes the gutter to overflow down the building potentially causing water damage. Anyone have experience with gutter guards like these?: http://www.islandgutters.com/leafprotection.html
Interior stair repair
Our 4-story brownstone co-op's interior stairs are getting wobbly underneath the carpet. Anyone you'd recommend to do the work?
