Toning Shiny Fixtures Down
So, the old owner of my house installed oodles of very shiny "brass" light fixtures...it's going to take me time and $$$ to replace. In the meantime, is there anything I can apply to the metal that will "antique" the finish so it's not so brassy?

Getting Rid of Basement Stuff
I have about 50 cans of paint that the previous owner of my house so kindly left for me in my basement. I also have grout, adhesive, deck stain, and other such remnants of home improvement/renovation projects from long ago. I've opened all the paint cans so they can dry out and I can throw away, but how do I get rid of all of the rest of it? And, is there a way to get rid of it all at once, w/o paying $$$ to a rubbish removal service?

Attic Fan Recommendations
As a child in the south, we had attic fans that sucked the air through the windows in our house to remove hot air and bring in the cooler air outside. Given how hot our top floor in our home now gets, I'd like to install something similar to reduce the need for A/C. I was wondering if anyone had installed an attic fan and could recommend someone who could do the work?

Lamp post top
We need to replace the lamp post top outside of our house. It was converted to electricity...I have no idea where to find such a thing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Exterior under-stoop help
the storage space under our house's exterior front steps/stoop rains down fine red dust on everything in there. I think we need to have the ceiling resealed or something...has anyone had anything like this done and can they recommend someone who could do it?

Chair and Table Restoration
I'm looking for someone who can recover a set of 4 chairs w/leather (see pics for chair in original state) and tighten up the chairs and the table that comes with them. It's all in pretty good shape, it just needs a little professional love. Any suggestions?

I love this place! Beer is great, food is fantastic (portobello wrap, onion rings, the new buffalo calamari, the wings, great guac....), the red-headed bartender is awesome, and it's just a great neighborhood joint. V. kid friendly during the day.

Thanks, but these links only address my paint (and, given the quantities they accept, it would take me over a year to get rid of all of it). I'd actually seen these pages, and have called 311, but all they do is read what's on these pages to me, which doesn't address the rest of the stuff i need to get rid of.

I got an awesome seat on the lawn w/in the fence, as did thousands of other people who didn't pay a dime (or at least a dime over $3, which was a volunteer donation). The $325 paid for an after-concert event.

was out at coney island this weekend. The flea market/vendor/amusement area being touted everywhere is a DISASTER. No vendors, no tents, nothin'. just a couple of empty large parking lots. It's a shame.

Rob, I'm totally with you. My favorite iced coffee in the world? This little place out in the North Fork that makes iced coffee using ice cubes made of coffee.
To take it a step further, I think they should also freeze milk and you could custom request your ice (half coffee cubes, half milk), but that may be taking it a bit too far.
