Scaffolding
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a scaffolding company? I have someone I like who is going to replace the rear cornice on our bstone but he only hires one company and their estimate came in very high. He is open to me shopping around. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Metro Restoration
Has anyone used Metro Restoration and, if so, what do you think? I need to replace the cornice on the rear facade of our brownstone and I am considering using them for the job.
Thanks so much for your help.

TV/Satellite/Cable Technician
I know this might be a longshot but we are looking for a reliable technician who can hook up our satellite cables to wires that were installed in our rentals when we renovated (two months ago). All we are getting now is runaround from the GC and the cable companies each pointing their fingers at the other. We want to know if it can be done, and if not, why.
Thank you!!

Real Estate Lawyer
Can anyone recommend a good, honest and knowledgeable real estate lawyer in the downtown/B.Heights/Carroll Gardens/Red Hook area? I am about to rent out three units in our 4 family and I would like to consult with a lawyer first. Thank you.

Thanks. I bought some beautiful iron numbers in Mexico last week. They would need to be nailed into the brick. I'll call Landmarks just in case....

I would bet money that 99% of the commenters on this thread have not rented an apt. in Brooklyn in the last 3 months. The market is WAY down. I just rented 2 and it was HARD and I took almost a 10% price drop. What rented last year in 3 days took me 3 weeks and with 2 price drops. They were on Craigslist with gorgeous pics, empty, with no dropped ceilings and brand new everything. I consulted w/ 2 agents, one from Corcoran and one from Halstead and they confirmed that things are sitting empty for months even after significant price drops. The agent from Corcoran said that he has two 2 bedrooms that rented in just 3 days last year for $3,600. This year the price is $3,000 and they've been sitting empty since July. He has another 600 sq. ft. 1 bedroom, no fee that has been on the market for 2 months empty. The market has tanked and it's taking longer and prices are lower. People are not looking for a deal they are looking for a steal....hopefully it won't stay like this for long.

Yes, it's true. He tried to get a liquor license but was turned down because of the church across the street. I first heard it would be a Nectar-esque type place with a much extended menu and alcohol. Now I am not sure. I heard recently that Nectar would move across the street to a bigger place leaving the Shakespeare Sister space tbd as far as the menu goes....

I would like to eventually install 4 new windows on my corner brownstone (that will form a regular pattern and not detract from architectural features on the primary facade, etc., etc.) but I've always been scared to find out how much it might cost. Does anyone on the forum have an idea of the cost per window?
