Love Scopello. Food changes depending on what's fresh in the season, so it always seems new. I agree with some of the other posters about the warm atomosphere and cool bar scene, but feel the food also stands on its own and is worth the trip. they do a good sarde beccafico, difficult dish to do, and you can't get more sicilian than that, but i admit my favorite is the ribs, juicy drop off the bone good. you want to drink the wine sauce off your plate! Large selection of good sicilian wines. Nice people too...

I love this place. its just like a lot of restos opening up in Palermo now, young and cool, putting a new twist on our old food traditions. The sarde beccafico keep it real and the ribs, oh the ribs! the ribs at Scopello are so good i dream about them. I've had memorable fresh pastas here, esp. black ravioli with crabmeat and the casarecci with sausage, and the wine list is uncommon, with an unusually large offering of really good sicilian wines. i go because i feel i get great quality for a moderate price. i tend to agree with some of the other posters here that the service could bear some improvement. my experience and that of my friends who go here is that the people are nice, the owner is a cool funny guy, and a lot of beautiful folks eating and drinking there, but the service is inconsistent, sometime great, most times just too slow. i go when i have time to relax with my friends... for desert try the casatelle, hard to get them this hot and fresh off the road to the beach at Scopello. If you want a taste of Italy as it is today but cant’ pay the airfare, at least Scopello is close.
