My wife and I love this place too. The food is good, not great, but it really is the vibe of the place that we like. Sometimes there's a DJ in there that sort of plays stuff from all over the map. I've never seen this place busy, and it's location makes it feel like you're one of about 6 people who know about it (adding to the charm). I've found it pretty inexpensive, and i don't think I've ever left without getting a free beer (Moritz!) or an extra sample of something on the menu - super friendly owner/staff.

Anyone know anything about the new 'Snack Shop' across the street from Calpurnia on Court? They put a bright green neon sign up a couple of days ago.

I'm with Smudge, I enter Tea Lounge and it instantly makes me feel like I'm back in middle school at a strip mall waiting for my mom to finish up at TJ Max.

Excited for Pedlar/Stumptown.

'every non-native NYCer I know prefer Manhattan'

Chiming in for the first time here...My wife and I moved to NY this summer and didn't even look in Manhattan. Everyone we knew in NY, with the exception of one poor soul in Murray Hill, lived in some Brooklyn nabe.

I think there are a certain number of non-native NYCer's who move to NYC in large part because of Brooklyn. I'm not saying that's the majority - but for some people it's not because it's cheaper, but because we actually prefer it.
