What the...
I would have just preferred it opened 4 years ago.

I saw this last night as I was riding my bike down Vanderbilt at like 8:30PM. It was causing a traffic nightmare. And this picture looks like it was taken at least mid-afternoon. You mean to tell me this crap sat around for several hours on a busy street like Vanderbilt for that long?! Crazy.

I wonder what outdoor space they'll have? Doesnt seem to be much space unless its a few tables out on the street?

I live on Dekalb, and sometimes I'll just sit on my stoop watching what these cars get away with - absolutely ridiculous. Music blasting, blowing through red lights, speeding around cars in the bike lane. No regard for pedestrians or other drivers. If the NYPD enforced traffic laws on Dekalb alone they'd make a fortune.

I'd take a dollar store over a religious book store any day. A religious book store of any denomination, in fact.

I can (unfortunately) one up both of you! I had fire crackers thrown down at me one hot summer night...about two years ago, from that same footbridge that goes across navy street while on my bike.
Every since then, I totally avoid that death trap at night. In fact, I now avoid that whole area at night.

They did the same thing last year on Dekalb in Fort Greene. Repaved the street and then dug it up to lay new lines / wires / pipes. The bike lane in front of Brooklyn Tech is a total disaster now.

I have lived across from that building for 4+ years, and the entire time that building has had scaffolding on the front of it. I cant tell you how happy I am that it's finally gone!! Now if only that dump of a magazine shop on the corner would spruce itself up.

How about asking the city to actually put break pads on city buses!? My apartment overlooks Dekalb avenue in Clinton Hill, and I can't even open up my window in the summer because of the horrible screeching of bus breaks every 5 minutes.
I don't think I've ever heard a plane going overhead while inside my building - and the flight path is almost directly overhead.

too bad pacifico didn't close with it. that place is digusting, and the food is horrible. That space has a lot of potential to become something Habana Outpost / Gowanus Yacht Club-esque. But it wont without some major help!

Huh? Where on Atlantic is this?

Great idea blocking off Hanson. I cant tell you how many times i've almost gotten mowed over by cars zooming into that entry way.

this building is moving at a snails pace.
and its particularly annoying because of the blockage it causes on dekalb. lets pick up the pace!
oh yeah, i'm also waiting for the day that construction materials get dropped on pedestrians on sidewalk. seems like only a matter of time..

daveinbedstuy - walgreens sort of is a big deal, when the nearest drug store in the neighborhood that stays open past 6pm is at the atlantic center.
i also didn't realize that asking a question made someone's whole life centered around something. weird.

When is that walgreens gonna open?!?

To me, this building makes even less sense than the finger building. You're at least a 10 minute walk from the G Train, and the rest of the buildings on the block are crumbling and neglected clapboard houses. so 2007.
