Exterior

Looking to replace siding with hardiplank or wood on an old frame house. Is there anyone who does this besides T&A?

Design/Build vs GC

What is the difference between hiring a General Contractor versus a Design/Build firm? I need some exterior and minor interior work done, does it make sense to hire a design/build?

Contractor Needed

Hi. I need a recommendation for a reliable contractor who can remove old siding, replace it with hardiplank, and replace windows on an old frame house. Any suggestions?

TNP 5 star?

Has anyone worked with TNP 5 star construction? I'm thinking about hiring them for some exterior work but wondering if anyone has had experience with them.

I did get an estimate from them that seemed high (17K for one side of the house) and they also said they were not scheduling work until spring.

I did contact someone in Long Island and they seemed ok but then failed to show up with a price. Slopefarm, do you have a recommendation for a good general contractor?

We used T&A for the same work that you need and they did an excellent job, were professional, prompt, reliable and responsive to our concerns. And our building is gorgeous! They are busy but they are worth it.

I seem to be the only one, but I used T&A for 3 projects a few years ago and I was only happy with one...the one they subbed out.

fyi hardiplank looks worse than vinyl up close up. we were going to put some on our house but then realized that there are maintenance costs with painting and keeping the joins tight...and it looked like crap
