Brownstone Stoop Renovation

I am looking to have a limestone stoop reshaped and brownstoned and would be interested in hearing about anyone's experience with this type of job. I was wondering about what a job like this should cost. I was also curious how people go about choosing the style of the stoop and railing. Are there any websites out there that show different options one could look at and show to contractors. Also if anyone can recommend a contractor it would be much appreciated.

I had a problem with some squirrels burrowing into my roof last year. I tried to cover/seal the hole with chicken wire but they managed to circumvent or chew through those materials. In the end, I bought a trap and easily caught and exterminated a number of them. It was an unpleasant job but the best in the end. If you do an online search you will find a lot of information out there about dealing with squirrel problems and can order a steel trap. I never knew how awful these little creatures were until this experience.

We had the same problem; we called a roofer but he recommended that we do it ourselves because he'd charge more than the job was worth. So we placed chicken wire over the hole and mortared over it. It was quite easy.

what you do is you take bird seed and pack it into a baseball sized ball with rat poison and peanut butter. then you roll it into the hole in your roof. then you make a large pile of seed outside and wait. it should take about 3 days.
