I like the name of the construction company -
certainly better than, "Nuthin Construction Co.".

Of course you need someone to do the labor!

But the catalogue is fun to look thru.

Perhaps the weight of stepping into the tub and/or filling it with bath water is causing the tile to move, shift and pop?

Exactly....like Rick said.
In fact it looks like carpeting was installed previously and that molding was placed 'on top' it.
You could either reinstall the molding or add a strip of shoe molding.

You're saying the replacement windows will be metal and wood...do you mean metal clad on the outside and wood on the inside?
If so, perhaps you have the option of ordering the windows with the inside primed ONLY, and then you can paint whatever color you'd like?

There are common solvents to remove lacquer, the commonest of which is called lacquer thinner aka acetone. As for dulling, many agents will work (besides expensive "dulling" solutions -- just an excuse to charge you up the wassoo) and I've always been happy with the results I've gotten from using -- no kiddin' -- oven cleaner.

Hi JCBstoner,
good luck on selling your shelving system. I own a beautiful system in Walnut, similar to the one in your living room. If your system for sale was walnut, instead of what looks to be maple, I would consider it. I think you should be able to sell just under $10,000 in this difficult environment, so don't sell out. I do not frequent these so called "hip" brooklyn websites and am saddened at the self-consciously populist viciousness of the attacks on you. They are obviously people who do most of their shopping at flea markets and have not been out pricing high quality built in cabinets that can run over $1,100 per linear foot. Atlas is the modernist alternative to built ins with regard to quality and the price reflects it. Ironically, you are supporting the local Brooklyn economy when you buy Atlas. You save in the long run because you can take them with you if you move.
