this is an excellent design. long overdue, esp as a regular bike rider in this area. good to see.

excellent video. i heart prospect heights. great to see...

I like the Forte, actually. The exterior is lacking + the master bedroom can definitely not fit normal-size master bedroom furniture but the views are quite great and the layouts are interesting.

Toren looks awesome. The views there are recently limited to the new Avalon Bay monster though.

The garden tour was excellent + a great weather day! Really enjoyable and rather beautiful backyards. I look forward to next year...

This building is so ugly. looks like very low ceilings and the red color is quite hideous.

Excellent listing of great celebrations/things-to-do this weekend. Thanks, Brownstoner. Happy Spring! Nice to get out there, enjoy the sun and celebrate Earth Day after seeing all these postings.

As a fort greene resident, I was happy to see this article in this week's NY Times real estate section. FG has been getting a lot of press lately - I love FG; wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Brooklyn.

this is a great list - thanks for the post.

crap location? I disagree. I live in the area - Fort Greene Park is 2 blocks away, in addition to Q, R, B, M, F, A, C, in very close proximity and 2, 3, 4, 5 three long blocks away...DeKalb in Fort Greene is a walk away and Downtown Brooklyn is turning around. This location is perfect for 1st time buyers just starting out + I'm curious to see how the interior of Toren will look. It's a great development.

Been here a few times and love it! Everything is very fresh and delicious. I highly recommend. The staff is friendly, atmosphere is cozy and a nice staple to the neighborhood.

I think the layouts are pretty interesting, actually - esp the 2-bedroom. It's a great location. 2-bed, 2-bath in that nabe is a pretty good deal, I think.

I live in the area and the building has grown at an alarmingly rapid rate since it broke ground. It almost seems like a floor every 4 days, as well as construction happening on weekends. It's quite a huge bldg and will surely block views for Toren and Oro residents. Anyone have details about how many stories - somewhere in the 20-30 range, I believe?

I love this place for delivery - their pizzas are actually really really delicious and very fresh. Good neighborhood staple for good value.

Love, love, love the back garden. One of my favorite garden restaurants in Brooklyn

katiebk wrote a review about Chez Oskar on October 9, 2008 1:57 PM

I love Chez Oskar, esp. Wednesday evenings for Jazz - good food, great brunch and friendly staff.

This really was a great place to hang out this summer. Good snacks, nice view and very relaxed/fun atmosphere. Bye Bye Park!

Location isn't so bad - it's right over the Manhattan Bridge w/ the Q, R, M, B, F, A, C trains nearby plus all the new good stuff happening in downtown...and Fort Greene is 5 minutes away. The area is developing at a rapid rate and this will be a good investment.

this is absolutely horrifically ugly. It looks like a 9th graders tech-ed homework assignment.

I agree wholeheartedly that this article is a bit silly but also feel compelled to post about the Q b/c I also love this line. F is my runner-up. Getting to Chinatown in 10 minutes and Union Sq in 15 is fantastic.

excellent, excellent, excellent! went to river cafe for my 2-year wedding anniversary and loved it. Definitely pricey, but nice for special occasions and food was delicious.
