all those silent parlour-floor pianos..
walking through my neighborhood of Cobble Hill, I see countless grand pianos sitting in huge parlour-floor walkthroughs and noone ever seems to play them.. if you're the owner of one of these gorgeous places, and if you wouldn't mind having a composer come over and practice and write music in exchange for lessons (piano/voice) or nominal fee, please contact me. I live in a 4-floor walkup in Cobble Hill and couldn't fit my piano up the stairs, so i'm currently piano-less and missing it terribly!

I didn't realize there were so many jokesters out there on brownstoner.. you haven't heard of noone?? he plays terribly! but he gets around.
To the one seemingly serious reply: an upright would be not quite as grand (huh), but it would do the trick. I assume it'll need tuning if it's been in storage for a while. what kind of exchange were you thinking of?

Hey, OP, while we're at it . . .
Owner: After you replace the joists, will I be able to play my grand piano in the living room?
GC: Yes.
Owner: Great, because I couldn't play before.

Slightly off-point but perhaps of interest: do you know of any chamber music group that might want rehearsal space? I have a spare floor and love music.
