over priced but their chocolate almond croissants are just plain ole YUMMY!
I agree with kwar228. This store looks amazing but I have never ever ever ever ever been able to get inside. I look through the window and they have amazing vintage stuff but i have never been able to walk in. after a while, I thought it was a "front" as well. only recently they put the name in the window. hmmmmmmmmmm

i like the loyalty. these places were listed with minsky when they were for sale...looks like they're stickin' with him for the rentals too.

1 pierrpont is an amazing building. Albeit, this unit is way over priced... The apartments are real hardcore true apartments. Meaning, you get large rooms, enough bathrooms to accomodate all the rooms!, a maids room off a huge kitchen (and I mean huge), formal dining room. views, rooftop garden. Now the catch: not only is the maintenance disgustingly high, you have to put down 50% cash in this building before you are even considered. I know a very well off couple that was rejected from this building because someone else in the building didn't like them....I'm just sayin'...

HUH? WTF does "Brooklyn is not Chelsea" mean????????? and not only is the house washed up so are the brokers trying to pimp this house at this point. can you say desperate?

So is it "just me" or did anyone else not hear anything about our proposition? Not only didn't I even see it all the way in the bottom corner but I never even heard that we had a prop on the ballet. I asked some folks before I went to vote if there was one here and no one knew! WTF?

Ok, he seems like a nice enough guy but why oh why must these folks get such high sign on bonuses and why should he be entitled to this ridiculous amount of severance for less than 3 weeks of service? this (the high bonus $ across the board, not this particular gentleman) is part of the reason why we are in such deep doo doo.

Delusions of grandeur....this house needs about 2M worth of work...then maybe it will still fall below the house on garfield that you posted for 8.5M! what the hell is going on..especially in this market? i think the broker needs to get a grip...

I think it's nice. I think it's a good price. you have views of the city so you aren't facing or hearing the BQE, you have a large open living area, 2 bathrooms, your own laundry. parking, a gym...geez, first i thought the mnt was too high but now that i read what i just wrote i think it's worth it...but then again...it's just me.

WHAT? I agree with bayridgegirl. How the heck did these get into contract when I've been on the "reservation" list for almost 8 months now. waiting to be contacted just to see them. This is crap. it's an inside job and agents bogarting the listing. they sent me all the marketing stuff and when i called them they told me they would invite us in as soon as the doors opened to show. wha? wha?

lechacal: maybe a little over the top with your response? maybe just a little??? no one denied anyone of a second bathroom.
I'm with minmin and oohlala. I think too much is being made of the fact that there is one bathroom. and yes, i like the luxury of the second bathroom but frankly why make such a big deal over it. you want one, get one. but geez, to react that way you need to lay off the coffee.

I agree w/ tbird and bigmackdaddy...sette sucks. i had the worset lunch there and vowed never to return. with some delicious places nearby, this is not one of the places i would ever return to...
Hey, "Iknow", I think you misread (mine anyway): it's not that they put it in the mail slots it's that they actually put the flyer in an envelope and put a stamp on it and mail it to you.
as far as the attorney is concerned: these folks who are delivering them are just the ponies pulling the cart. Tell them you don't want them, they'll leave. they might be relentless in their pursuit but they'll leave and usually quietly. no need to resort to such drastic measures (although I do like the idea of dropping the truck load of kohl's flyers at the doorstep of the advertising agency..i'm just sayin'...)
Posted by: just me at August 5, 2008 3:31 PM in response to Closing Bell: Fighting Unwanted Fliers
yeah, the flyers can be annoying but here's one better: last week, on two different days, I received, in the MAIL, an enveloped menu flyer from Red Hot II!!! No kidding. They've now taken theri marketing money and invested in snail mail to get the menu out there! Still ended up in the garbage but I thought, "wow, these folks will stop at nothing!"

I love Bonnie's. I love walking down 5th and getting hit with that delicious grill smell that takes over the avenue! I'm gonna have a hard time when 5 Guys opens cause they'll be the only other onw to give Bonnie's grill a run for MY money!
I read an article recently that stated that they've actually been there for about 30 years now. Having the Fed's there is not new. I think the fact that the public has just become aware of this is the issue. I lived in the Heights for many years and never knew they were there. Now that I know, I don't think it's changed my opinion on their location or mine. St. Ann's probably came after and may not have been aware of their presence since they were a little known secret. HOWEVER, you always had the presence of the courts, marshalls, and FBI right there. NOW you also have OEM (the old red cross location on cadman plaza east) and the mayors bunker...It's a big city out there and our school's are bound to be near something like this...it's inevitable (maybe avoidable but never the less inevitable)

you don't have to chage the Cof O if you are just restructuring to add a room. If you are buying the apartment next door and making it into one big apartment then you do.
it will add to the value if the rooms are decent sixe and meet the criteria of a bedroom (window and a decent size, say 100sq ftish)

and your point is? all that tells me is that they didn't do a conversion but it's now a 2 bedroom.
where did you grow up? I grew up in a small cape house. one of the bedrooms was originally the attic which eventually was converted to a small bedroom that one of the kids would get. when the house sold it was then sold as a 4 bedroom (one room that was a den became a bedroom too, this did have a closet already. PS: TWO of the bedrooms did not have closets in the rooms. There was a small closet in the hallway that was shared by both rooms upstairs. the value of the home appreciated just having the extra bedrooms. don;'t see much of a difference with coops doing the same thing...

crazy to have paid the 3.4M to begin with. crazy for what they are asking. this is ONE block from Atlantic ave and ONE block from the entrance to the BQE. NO WAY is it worth what they are asking at this stage of the game.

You people are brutal. Your comments are beyond obnoxious. This building was once a Mitchell Lama, designed for affordable middle income folks. It privatized about 10 years ago (or a little more). The apartments are great sizes and the building is very well maintained. You may not like this style but others do.
I do not necessarily agree that a 3 bdrm should go for 1.6 but you are getting an amazing apartment, with amazing views, in an amazing neighborhood. You will get your money worth...and, NO, I am not the listing broker...
stop bashing the broker(s) and stop critisizing everyone and their mothers for living there. jeez, i'd love to see where some of you folks live...
