The only thing I ever got here was a ciabatta roll -- and it's likely the only thing I'll ever get as there was a big hair baked into it. Yuck! The staff are very friendly, though.

Better than Yamato. I just wish they'd lose the TV.
Not sure why this didn't go up when I tried to post hours ago (and it's not my first time posting) but 43 Park Place has been on and off the market a couple of times. That octagonal kitchen window looks out on 43 Park Place's deck -- not very private because anyone standing on said deck can see right into the kitchen.

I honestly don't understand how this place has such a good reputation. I tried many different things from here when they opened on 7th Avenue and everything was stale. Like, way stale and thus not very good. On a sunny day, I noticed cupcakes in the window had melted icing -- the same cupcakes were there several days later when I walked by again. I was excited when they opened but have only been disappointed.

LOVE 'Snice. Great sandwiches and sides. The only thing lacking is the lemonade -- why from a bottle and not freshly squeezed? Seems out of character for this place when it's so easy to make and found at so many other places along 5th Avenue.

Pretty much the same menu as the Max restaurants but without the attitude or lines. Love it.

Adorable and fun but the food just isn't that special and the menu is tiny. We were disappointed.
How disappointing. Aside from the fact that Sotto Voce sucks, why is it that shopkeepers and restaurant owners on one of 7th or 5th Avenues don't realize that it's silly to put in another on the other avenue? It's all the same neighborhood -- we all walk to both avenues. They're not suddenly attracting new customers by having a second location but more like splitting the customers they would have had anyway. What a waste. It would be so much better to have some other restaurant come in.

This place was such a rip-off in its first incarnation but they've pretty much got it right now. Before the overpriced food cost more than buying the same sorts of things as take-out from other neighborhood restaurants and you had to take the time to prepare it. Now the dishes are very inventive with incredible spice combinations and artful presentation. It was a real joy to eat here. It would do a lot for their ambience if they got rid of the refrigerator cases in the front. Those make it seem like a low-end deli kind of place while the food is cutting-edge gourmet. There was also something a little strange going on where the owner was presenting himself as chef instead of Mark Simmons, who other staff said was really the chef.
