i get the same treatment and i live in parkslope .i am a young latin male hip &
cool i sometimes get this look like what are you doin here .and i dont like it,like there
sayin how could he be payin a rent in this neighborhood.well first of all i make a very good livin in enviromental construction.
and 2 of all.i've been livin here in park slope all of my life.i've seen when there were gangs in 3rd st park.they were called the f.m.d's filty mad dogs.in the late 70's
and i remember there were none of THOSE PEOPLE around here then.then there were the 80's
oh the REAL NEW YORKERS know about those days.
and btw when i say REAL NEW YORKERS i mean the ones that grew up in new york.
not the ones that were raised in akron,ohio
JUST moved to neighborhoods like ours.
AND THEN CALL THEMSELVES NEW YORKERS.
AH OH MAN they got me going now.LOL
you people are not NEW YORKERS YET YOU HAVE TO PAY DUES.

US.PARKING=we dont take two spots unless were savin it for someone .

THEM=just dont know how to park LOL it's true but really funny.

US=we just want to get to where we gotta get to.

THEM=they want to slow everybody down,and lolly gag when people have places they have to be at.

US=are cautious when parking in a spot as careful not to hit or touch the cars in front or behind.

THEM=they bang there way in messing up peoples bumpers.remember they dont parallel
park in akron,ohio they have driveways.LOL

well i could go on and on .but i am tired

second of all my next comment is to the person who said not to trust lead abatement companies.well you must of been burned badly by bad people.and i will apologize on there
behalf but i am offended by your comment because being a lead abatement supervisor i have always been honest & fair.and always done the right thing.and these are some rules set by the e.p.a.
feel free to ask me any questions considering lead paint .
and also REMEMBER it is illegal to have anyone aside from a certified ,e.p.a. company to do this work.
ur are putting yourself in great dangers.by not doing so .
1.any building built pre 1960 is considered
to have lead.unless otherwise proven by testing.
2.methylene chloride is iilegal and is reported to promote cancer big time NO GOOD.
3.DRY SCRAPING is also illegal because of the dust.
4.the key is to always minimize the dust and keep it contained.

just want to let u know be careful because i think the door bucks might have to be filled with cement also.(that means the the door frame there is also a place in the bronx called abco doors they make different styles of steel doors,and btw i think they have to be steel because of the fire rating .

We paid $1200 for a 625 sq. ft. 1 bed, but that was including kitchen and bath. It was primer and two coats. You will probably need two coats, particularly if the underlying color is darker.

I wouldn't suggest going with a guestimate. Any good painter will measure your room, look at the condition of the walls and ceilings to see if there is any repair and prep work the be done and warn you about it before hand and then give you a written estimate based on an agreed upon per square foot charge (I charge $1.60 per square foot, this includes labor and materials.) If there is any prep and repair work to be done and it is not done properly the underlying plaster or sheet-rock will simply crumble and your newly painted wall will not be there soon enough.
