Water Heater
In a past thread, someone mentioned using the boiler to heat water in the winter and the hot water heater to do it in the summer. is that difficult to set it up and use it that way or is something any good plumber can do? The house we are buying has a (gas) boiler but no H/W heater, and my understanding is that we'll save money by not using the boiler year round for water heating

We looked at that from the outside, and the exterior photos in the times ad are completely photoshopped phony. wrong number of windows, duh!

Actually, the photoshopped photo is what they plan on doing. They are going to change the position of the door on the larger right with the window and replace the window on the left with a door for the smaller unit.
Originally, there was only one door entrance to the entire carriage house.

I would suggest doing a google search for vintage counters. There might be a salvage company that has vintage housewares that you could possible get for next to nothing. Again I would suggest doing a google search to find out.

from the brochure linked here, it seems as if no permit is needed for a sidewalk repair but -- if a city tree is involved -- the Parks Department needs to be alerted and given time to inspect the site. Is that right?
