@tybur6 (back on original topic) I can't speak for the other properties on this post, but the Maple St building (and perhaps Pacific, too) is a new construction. My understanding is that when a seller is the developer (and not the resident), then they want to sell out the building in order to move on to new developments/investments. Very different from resident sellers.

high fives to mothra and designernyc. These were far and away the most strangely designed condos we saw. The "garden" duplex was useless space made more useless by the fact that one room wasn't even attached to the rest of the place. You had to walk outside to get to the "guest room." And the stairs in the 1BR loft were so narrow that they were effectively just a permanent ladder.

But if you love you some cobble hill, they're in a fantastic location. I say not worth it.

@ serenade Yeah, I know TDG is not a developer. I was just commenting on the buildings they've taken on. @dittoburg I've not lived in a TDG building, so I'll take your word for it. I've only looked at 3 or 4 different TDG places.

I looked at this earlier in the Spring. They're very nice. TDG tends to be near the top in quality of new constructions (for those who love contemporary apt design anyway). The only drawback is the small bedrooms in the 2BR units. Nice views, too, from the PHs.

Looked at this place back in January. A couple of problems:
1) to the west & south, the BQE is loud.
2) to the south & east, a depressing view of the lowe's hardware parking lot.
3) no w/d connections
4) huge maint/cc
5) the walk to the 9th St F train over the Gowanus is not so nice - you don't really feel like you're in Carroll Gardens. The corcoran people said a lot of residents just do the extra walk to the Carroll St station.

But on the plus side, the interiors are lovely. The high ceilings are great. And if you can look past the BQE, a 9th or 10th floor west face is a decent view.
