Affordable Hotel or B&B near Ft. Greene
My parents will be stopping through for a night next weekend and I need a place for them to stay as my place is too small. I’ve been looking for hotels in the area, but they all seem crazy expensive.
The Mariott at the Bk bridge is $429 a night (!?)
The Days Inn is farther than they want to stay, and looks scary to them (they are from the ‘burbs)
The Holiday Inn Express is $288 a night
I found Regina’s B&B on Ft Greene Pl but there is a 3 night stay minimum.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Ideally something around 150$ would be great… I think they would really like a local B&B if I could find one that would take them for only one night.

IPE Wood?
I'm looking for a small amount of IPE wood to build a fence - maybe 10-20 boards. I already have some pieces left over from an earlier project. Does anyone have any extra pieces for sale, or know where to get more? I saw someone mention a place called "Dykes" but I can't find a phone number, address, or website for them. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

I had heard of this place as well, but when I went to their website http://www.saddledown.com/ it says they are closed for now. :(

WF, or Fairway and I would be in heaven. I would hold my breath, but I don't think it will ever happen. :(

I would recomend Brooklyn Design and Custom Carpentry:

They did a fence for me on my deck, you can see it on their website.
They were really nice, gave me the best price for the job (I got 4 quotes) finished on time and on budget, and cleaned up after themselves.
I had a great experience with them.
Good luck!

booooring. I was hoping for something else in this location. How many banks do we need in one area?

condo boards can be such a pain. :(
Regarding 3:39 - I had a fence designed and built on my deck by the guys at Brooklyn Design and Custom Carpentry (bkdesignshop.com) they had the best price out of the 4 bids I got, showed up on time, finished on time, and cleaned up after themselves. The project came in on budget. I had a great experience with them.
Good luck.....

It's nice to see a garden that is more natural and doesn't look like it came out of a magazine. Nice work!

Spencer Place B&B is right by the Franklin Ave C train stop. My parents stayed there for the weekend in April and thought it was fine. I think it was about $100 a night. It's a brownstone run by a family who lives there too.

Let them stay in your place, and you can stay with a friend, or on the floor

Good grief. You can't sleep on the couch for one night and give your parents your bed?Now I see why some people leave all there money and belongings to the cat or dog.

Sad that your parents aren't even worth a couple of hundred bucks to you or you rather not sacrifice your own bed. I bet you have their nursing home picked out already.

Re:3:39
I am also considering a backyard pergola. I met with Steve from Urban Exteriors. His work looks great. Check out his site.

oops, OK I found the Dykes website. But I'd rather buy scraps off someone, or other suggestions of where to buy so I can find the best price. Thanks in advance!
