I lived next door to this mansion for 3 yrs...the owners were crazy and neglectful of their property...to the point that there were numerous rat den's under the porch. I will be happy to see them go.

I saw 3 raccoons climbing up a fence several months ago on the corner of Fulton and Irving. They were the size of dogs

Its nice to see that this blog has degraded into its usual discussion of hookers, hustlers and other stupidness....instead of the actual posting and providing a forum for intelligent thought. GREAT JOB DONE BY ALL!

setancre,
If I had as little as 5k and 5+ years to play with, I would be investing in the market right now. Yea, the market might go down as far as 7000 but thats the min. because these companies are worth something and bad debt isnt permanent. There are amazing companies that can be had for dirt cheap...just don't buy GM because they are definitely going out of business lol. I wouldnt mind going down 10-20% in the next yr because it will be up 50+% within 10 years.

sebb, you sound very bitter. I am a renter and I am pretty happy about this news. The people that should be bitter are potential sellers in this market and home owners that are paying mortages for a home that is worth more than what their home is actually worth.
But it really doesn't matter if potential buyers are unable to get a home loan, which is the problem in this market.

gatesave wrote a review about The Soul Spot on August 21, 2008 1:05 PM
For the portions they give, its not a bad value if your new to brooklyn and dont know where to get soul food. You get the best soul food from restaurants on flatbush avenue between winthrop and nostrand avenue. There is also a great place on atlantic ave and rockaway. However, 99% of the people that read this blog wont go into those areas.
gatesave wrote a review about 67 Burger on August 20, 2008 12:22 PM
This place is way over-rated. The burgers are expensive, its always busy in there and the decor sucks. David McFadden must have mistaken modern for boring. Don't waste your time here, just go across the street to Mullanes. The service is way faster, even for a bar and you can watch tv and drink a beer for the same price.
Its good to finally have well paved streets in clinton hill again. But in a semi-related note, does anyone know when Fulton street will get repaved and turned into a two way street again?

Schultz, you should be more responsible when throwing the term lynching around. I really dont think people commenting about how ugly a building is qualifies....

I live next door to this fugly thing....why did they have to remove the plywood?! At least the art work made it bearable. I hope this guy loses a ton of money

well, 525 clinton will be "great" as long as you love the rats the size of small dogs and raccoons that are regularly seen on that block

I've lived in bk for most of my life but all I can think about is that the filming of this movie made living on st james place a living hell for a solid month

But these should be tactics you use regardless of where you life/work in nyc. Yes, crime might be higher in certain communities but robberies/muggings happen in every community of nyc

Im 11:30 but I didnt sign in as myself. 11:35, your comments are almost laughable if only they were more thought provoking and insightful.
11:37, normally I would agree with you, yes people of all races commit crimes, especially when you look at teenagers. However, on Brownstoner, everything thats considered "poor", "ghetto" or "crime-ridden" has a underlying racial undertone to it because posters like to become internet racial bullies here.
WELCOME TO BROWNSTONER!

Dave,
Your correct in saying that things are block specific in bedstuy at times, but Macdonough is an extremely quiet block. I have a friend who owns a BS on that same block and all the houses there are amazing, and its only 2 blocks away from "stuy heights". They might not get their asking price depending on the level of details but they should get close.
