We let our tenants lock the bikes on the front gate.
We like it and think we would like to be treated the same when we were renting.
We think bikes are part of city life and also like our tenants to be happy in general.

We had some plants stolen from our stoop on thursday.
We also had someone dug some plants from a planter in our front yard.
We planted new ones.
It is very upsetting.

I have the same one, I got it for FREE from the City of New York.
You paid over $100 for this?? You are CRAZY

Posted by: tomgee at July 28, 2009 8:18 AM in response to Want My Composter? $30!

thanks tomgee.

you must be thinking of the discounted compost bin program where
people get this one for $60. Because of the cost they have'nt done the
free program in years.

ANYWAY...this is open at the bottom to answer your question 'emil'.

Posted by: CGmodern at July 28, 2009 10:20 AM in response to Want My Composter? $30!

I also have this composter. The NYC compost project sold them last year for $20. But due to budget cuts, I think they now sell them for $60.

It is open at the bottom.

We just had Traemand finish installing our kitchen yesterday (Gregory also headed up our work). They were terrific -- super courteous and clean. Our demolition was more work than they expected (really old kitchen) but they did all the work with a smile. Just nice guys to have in your house. Obviously, can't tell you how the kitchen holds up, but it's looking great for the moment.

Posted by: djlavoie77 at July 30, 2009 4:52 PM in response to Ikea Installers

our ikea kitchen still looks great after 2.5 years. we cook a lot and it looks like new.

Posted by: nyflicka at July 30, 2009 5:26 PM in response to Ikea Installers

Thanks guys! We'll definitely go with Traemand now. Does anybody have a direct NYC number I can call them at or should I just call the 800 number?

Posted by: bklynjen at July 30, 2009 10:18 PM in response to Ikea Installers

I've installed several Ikea kitchens with granite counters in rental apartments I own and I've never used an Ikea installer. If your kitchen has any strange angles, you may have to "customize" the Ikea cabinetry and, if so, you should make sure your contractor is up to the job. Adding a filler piece and losing valuable storage space due to an odd angle is the last thing I'd want in a kitchen renovation. . .
