Looking for GC with dryer vent re-routing experience

Can anyone please recommend a reasonable, licensed/insured GC with experience re-routing dryer vents directly out the side of a building (as opposed to the current inefficient/unworkable venting all the way to the roof for the lower units in the building)? The project seems relatively simple -- creating approx. 4' hole in wall behind dryer, installing proper pipe, sealing and capping properly on exterior of wall. Finding licensed/insured GC with experience with this specific type of job has not been easy. Thanks.

What type of experience are you shopping for, the ability to open a 4" hole, stick a pipe through it, and cap it off? Your not going to find someone that specializes in this, its a DIY job; however almost any contractor can do it. Just remember licensed and insured comes at a cost, as will the labor, material and overhead of a licensed GC. So, IMO, you should be shopping for a handyman or good DIY book and the nearest tool rental. One more thing, are you sure the ducting you propose is legal or allowed, sounds like the easier option then running 30-40' upward, why wouldn't this have been done in the first place. A GC will do what their told, its still on you to figure our or file this correctly. If you are expecting the GC to figure it out, add some more costs to that as they will collaborate with an architect. All the best.

Can you tell me why venting to the roof is not working for you. We are about to install a dryer and planning on venting to the roof. Is there some reason we should not do this?

What about a ventless condensation dryer? We bought a Bosch condensation dryer for our coop apt as we didn't want to go through the expense and hassle of venting out the side (and we couldn't go up to the roof). Condensation dryers hook up to the same waste water pipe as the washer, no need for anything else.

We LOVE the dryer. Super quiet and dries just like a normal dryer (we were worried about that), and uses less energy. Now we don't understand why they aren't standard for everyone...

It was a little more expensive than a normal dryer but certainly MUCH less than any venting solution.
