I think it will do very well, lots of foot traffic around that block. Hopefully it will open in the morning to catch the folks on the way to Union Street R/M.

A friend had parked at the garage on 4th ave. and was told it was closing (its still open!). I thought the finacing for the condo was slowing things down but Benson found the real answer! I still wish it would become a whole foods. The warehouse often doesn't shovel after the snow and it becomes an ice rink walking to the train.

Why can't whole foods open on 4th ave. between 1st and 2nd?that garage is slated to be torn down... Or anyplace in park slope...I'm still jealous about trader joes.

Wow! That house is unbelievable. And if I win the lottery, mine.

Melt food is fine but the service is terrible! We kept going back, the service got slower, the wait for a table longer and the restaurant itself louder. I cringe just thinking about that place. Alchemy down the block is so much better, I would eat at the Atlantic Center McDonald's before melt.

I used to order from Lemongrass - but agree Mee Thai is very fresh and has taken the lemongrass's spot. I like Song but its really loud in there, yes I feel old typing that.

For the price I would expect the 17th street house to have a snazzier kitchen.

I liked the simone, but was glad I didn't end up buying there. I do think its a great quiet location for the right person...but not if it has rats!

The food is good and the location is fabulous. They have a large space for parties/showers and valet parking for guests.

Thanks 11217 - I love stone park's brunch and the crowds have been mellower through the summer. I am dreading the longer waits.

I don't think of this place as fast food and am interested in people's opinion...since I'd rather go to press 195 for a sandwich or s'nice. but why no menu? =(

I love the apt. but the half fridge is a killer for me!

Windsor Terrace is holding up quite well price wise w/ the condo today and the 1.5mm house. Its a great neighborhood, the F train is the biggest drawback!

The food is ok, especially the brunch. Its best to go at off hours b/c when its crowded you will NEVER see your waiter.

I wish Whole Foods would look at some of these sites on 4th.

Great food!

cmu -I think people on bikes should wear helmets for the same reason people in cars wear seatbelts b/c accidents happens regardless of how careful you are. I think its a shame when people get hurt.

Trader Joe's was able to open a store in Bklyn. I can't understand what is taking Whole Foods so long to open here. I love the store but am not shopping there anymore.

The two one-bedrooms listed are a bit pricey..maybe I was too hard on yesterday brooklyn heights apt.

I love them and appreciate the skill that went into making them!

Cute apt, but the lack of kitchen pics, makes me a bit nervous. How far is it from Grand Army Plaza?

The flea was wonderful today! Good work...I'm so glad its outside again and the weather cooperated.

The Griffin sale looks like a great deal. I wonder what condition the apt. was in.

Posted by: ebklyn at April 17, 2009 11:47 AM in response to Brooklyn Sales: Under a Million

The pictures were taken on a very overcast day it seems and do nothing for the listing. I do think its a great location though, but the kitchen is a bit too small for me! What price would you expect?

Posted by: ebklyn at March 31, 2009 12:58 PM in response to Co-op of the Day: 60 Plaza Street East

Its a cute apt., not too far from the F train...the low maintance makes the price more palatable.

Thanks tybur6, that's what I am trying to avoid! Parallel Parking has never been a strength for me. Glad your accident was minor.

The Reeve Place house is nice, but way too expensive for that neighborhood. Why didn't they add a 2nd full bath?

Posted by: ebklyn at February 20, 2009 1:19 PM in response to Open House Picks

Totally agree with 11217. Leila is a great hairdresser/ colorist (far better than many of the expensive Manhattan salons) and the prices are very fair.

Bricktop please let me know when you go to Target..its always crowded and busy when I go! Sometimes I wonder if saving some $ on cereal is worth the trama.

The food is great. I agree the tables are close together but the food/service is good enough to make up for it. I prefer dinner to brunch, but brunch is good too. Aperitivo isn't being reviewed but its good, the service is a bit slow but very nice. Its a hard time to have opened and I hope they do well.

I'm curious if they adjusted for age. When I rented I was younger and skinner. I don't think the mortgage has made me fat! I don't think owning has made me that much happier but its nice to have some control over colors and design...but responsiblity can be a downer.

I don't know if the service is bad, but the food takes forever - you need to bring a snack..

ebklyn wrote a review about Picket Fence on December 9, 2008 2:00 PM

I have only eaten here 3 times - but it was very enjoyable. Its a nice quiet lunch spot during the week. The decor is fun and the service was great. I like farm on adderly - but this menu is a bit more basic and I prefer it!

Wow, what a beautiful house. I love it! If I am ever renovating a brownstone, I'm bringing these pictures.

A bunch of the birds live at greenwood cemetary. A tour guide told me the birds escaped from a South American shipment at the airport but they are from the Andes so they can handle the cold. They are a bit noisey so you might not want to invite them to your yard!

I think Star of India does a decent take out business. The food is good and the people in the restaurant are very nice. I too am suprised it doesn't do better...

I think Star of India on Fifth Ave is good, especially for take out. Baluchi's will be a nice addition though!

I voted at ms 51 on 5th avenue. The line was very long but moved pretty quickly give the amount of people. If you are in line by 9pm - you have to be allowed to vote! The poll workers have a rought day ahead of them!

Great sandwiches and an unbelievable selection, including veggie options. The sangria is good as well. The only drawbacks are cash only and the service is attentive but the food takes a bit.

ebklyn wrote a review about Joya and Song on October 27, 2008 12:14 PM

Unfortunatly, I think Song had a fire recently. Its a bit loud - but inexpensive and yummy. I hope they open again soon. Its also cash only! I think Song is better then Joya.

I still have it too!

Good food and a much nicer "dining space" then the other Chinese restaurants in the area. Its nice to sit outside on the Union Street side. Very good veggie choices. For take-out they have a smaller size option
