i love this place. my family is from central europe (hungary and czechoslovakia) and my mom has been here and she thinks it's authentic. the only regret i have is no chocolate dessert on the dessert menu! but the spaetzle is wunderbar, and the sauerbraten is ausgezeichnet. my 4 year old son loves the place and they tolerate him with sweetness and provide me with slivovitz and delicious kölsch on tap as medicine. again, viel viel dank cafe steinhoff! i love that i can order kaffee mit schlag and no one bats an eyelash and it appears!
I'm continually astounded by the folks that never learned, "if you've got nothing nice to say, keep it to yourself," and those that never learned, "if you've got a problem, come up with the solution." Happy Friday, all ya miserable misathropes!

Is there a type of ground cover that likes full sun?

I have a north-facing shady back garden and was lucky enough to have glechoma hederacea naturally occurring. I have given over the lawn area to it. It has small dark green leaves about the size of a quarter, is fragrant, can be mowed like a lawn but if left alone tops out at about 4 inches. It has a history of medicinal uses and is available from several mail order nurseries.

if you are willing to go the mail order route, a really interesting nursery is sunshine farm in west virginia...

perhaps what you want is fake turf make of postconsumer recycled product. before you react vehemently I urge you to read up on it, it's actually come a long way.
