Late to the party, so I'll just add, I live in the yellow outlined district and don't believe it should be landmarked. The red is just a joke -- and I say that as someone who used to live quite happily between 4th and 5th Aves, no snobbery here. It just seems to me that landmark districts should be for unique, really historically significant areas, not just every block in the city with a pretty building on it.
Green area should definitely happen.

I got takeout from Kinara on 5th Avenue just last night, which really isn't a big coincidence because I order there at least every couple of weeks. Food is good, vindaloo is spicy as all hell (good), and the takeout value is good-to-great -- $13 for an app and an entree with rice and naan. I tend to eat heartily and my leftovers from last night are going to make a pretty decent meal tonight.
Agree that service sucks. I have never actually had a sit-down meal there, and can't imagine ever wanting to based on how curt the employees are in the 30 seconds it takes me to pick up my sack of food when I call in ahead of time.
FYI, for those of you still reading this last-week's news post, I'm pretty sure the next tunnel tour is actually on 3/8, not the 15th.

Fulton Street ----> MLK Boulevard? Seems natural enough to me.

No comments? It's almost as if everyone is just looking for the negative stories....

Brooklyn North and Brooklyn South are indeed just NYPD administrative divisions. The fact that BK North is a bit smaller than BK South, geographically, is probably because crime historically has been greater there, meaning they need a denser allocation of police resources. So the fact that Brooklyn South now has "more crime" probably just means that the density of crime is getting closer to -- but hasn't surpassed -- that of Brooklyn North. Make sense?

Good - as someone who used to live half a block from there, this is one particular area that can only be improved by residential development. Maybe when these buildings are done, the M train won't be so lonely in the morning anymore.

This isn't Park Slope (zip codes do not a neighborhood make), but nor is it mugging territory. If you're drinking nearby, I'd say stumbling into the Taco Bell down the street is your biggest danger.

I actually think this building has turned out to be far more attractive than I ever hoped or expected. Not that that's a huge statement, but still.
