I saw a 50% sold sign in one of the windows this weekend.

I believe the top middle storefront is the future home of Brooklyn Larder. I think those are work permits to the right of the door.

Terrible square footage inflation on the Wyckoff house. They used the exterior dimensions and some creative rounding. And even with their numbers it's $621 per sqft. It's more like 2230 sqft for $762 per. It's well above neighborhood asking prices on a less than average Boerum Hill block.

These prices don't go up in a vacuum. You can't compare living between 4th and 5th today to doing the same 6 years ago. For the people who bought this place, the relative quality of life may have increased 183% as well.

On the other hand, I think this was a surprisingly good price for the seller--1.15m for a 3 story, 18-footer with an unfinished basement that probably needs some work. And if the listing sq footage is right, $577/sqft is probably as much as this could have ever gone for.

I've seen a lot of them at dusk in Prospect Park, and up to 3 at a time, but that's probably the best place they could be. They usually seem to be making a run for it from one patch of woods to another.

My thoughts about Song. Great, cheap delivery--and fast.

Yeah, I often walk past as well, and from 4pm onward it is always packed. They must be pulling in a lot more $/day/sqft than Royal Video. And if they're successfully charging those prices, it looks like they're doing a good thing and doing well. Unless the rent is beyond absurd, it seems like they should/could afford to stay.

Beau, you're not wrong. I really like riding on the BK bridge when it's not crowded, but when it's packed with pedestrians (many of whom are non-English speaking visitors) it's more than a recipe for disaster.

Yup. I've seen her lay a turd--and wipe--by the USPS mailbox on the NE corner of Dean and 4th--it was about 9am with plenty of people walking past.

I heard that it was originally built too close to the street, and this was the shortcut way to preserve the building's structural integrity while also keeping with code.

This has been done at the non-free shows for a while. Not really newsworthy or worth getting upset about.

Actually, Wilco has a "Causes" section on their web site where they regularly announce which charities may benefit from their shows:

So the "rabid" fans have probably known this longer than you might assume.
