It's Newtown Creek, not Newton Creek

Agree with jjbk, the food is pretty bad but the bar and atmosphere is fine. It is pretty packed for football games, and I go there sometimes to watch but they should really upgrade their TVs. Very nice owner and staff.
The one and only time I was in Sam's, the older gentleman had to close early and rush us out (gently) because his wife was in the hospital. Sad news that she has passed. I am looking forward to going back to see if the pizza is just as good as before.

Nevermind, found the answer, and it is good news!

Anyone know what (if anything) is going on with the old Trout space on Smith and Pacific? I walked by this morning and the gate was partially opened and a bunch of potted plants sat on a table. Something needs to open here very soon and they need to serve beer in plastic cups that I can drink while sitting outside. Last Friday was way too gorgeous not to be there, and Gowanus YC was way too crowded.

Also, nary a biker in sight, apparently.

I hope they make those people selling all the Obama merch on the streets cease and desist. I feel like I'm in North Korea surrounded by all these fawning images of our Dear Leader.

I still don't get it. What labels? The beer was only sold in kegs and all six point taps are just wood taps with the six pointed star on it. Just tell the bars to change their chalkboards to Hop Blagojevich or something.

I went here for the first time the other night and I really enjoyed it. The wine list is nice, and they had an excellent whiskey list that I will have to sample next time. The waiter poured me tastes of a couple wines after asking what type of wine I was looking for. The dishes we ordered were all good, a couple were great. I like the space (love the big windows, especially on a snowy night) with the exception that the waiter computer is kind of visually intrusive (I know, picky picky) and while the soundtrack didn't quite fit the vibe (B-52s, 867-5309, I touch myself) I actually didn't mind it. I look forward to eating here again.

I walked by Hibino on Sunday night (after a delicious meal at Boca Lupa) and Hibino was closed. I couldn't tell but it looked like it was CLOSED closed. Anyone been this week? I hope not, I went there once but was looking forward to going back soon.

I walked last Sunday evening. I noticed they had a sign out front advertising that they had the NFL Package... and one TV. So, maybe they will be getting more TVs and it will be a sports bar?
