Just wait until your kids are old enough for organized sports and you have games at 8 am and as late as 4 pm (even later for baseball/softball), and you don't have any place for practice or stretching before competitions because there are thousands of kids trying to play soccer and baseball/softball on fields meant only for hundreds. My son plays peewee ball in the Park and the peewee fields are wedged in between the bigger kids' diamonds. If a 10-year old hit a dinger, one of the 5 year olds could get beaned.

If it's a sushi place run by Chinese, it very well will be worse than Wok n Roll...and I can say this, being Chinese and all...my peeps can cook but they can't do raw...

There had been a letter posted on the Sadie Mae space stating that Dr. Alan Azrak, a pediatric dentist with an office on Union St, had purchased the property and would be developing it and if there were any reasons he shouldn't, those reasons should be reported to the department of something, something. Dr. Azrak is a nice guy who runs a heck of a dental office--open Sundays!--and it will be nice to have him so close when my kids rot their teeth on the nickel candy from the deli next door.

But what happens now? Will Ratner begin selling off bits of the property to smaller developers, a la BK Developers? Or Boymelgreen? Or will the land lay fallow and become a dumping ground for mattresses and old Christmas trees? Or maybe homeless shanty towns, a la Tompkins Square Park circa 1986? Will responsible development prevail? Can this fiscal crisis and ongoing lawsuits convince Ratner to build contextually and responsibly? I am not advocating Ratner-style development, no, no, not at all, but really would like to know--what are we in for?

Even my daughter is sick of cell phone stores. She's 8! The only thing more disappointing for her was the opening of the new realtor at Berkeley and 7th Ave.

Best restaurant in Brooklyn. It's constantly changing, market-driven menu is a real treat and unusual. Every time you go there, you are guaranteed a new experience. The staff has always been exceptionally accommodating to me and my entire family, including two young children. Cocktails are terrific and unique and the wine list is exceptional. People judge Franny's as if it were a pizza restaurant, which it isn't. I would agree that prices are high for the smallish portions.

Try J&R on 7th Ave in Park Slope. I have heard they sell any appliance and will match if not give better price than any other retailer. If they are that accommodating, perhaps they will install as well.
