minwax polyshades

Has anyone used minwax polyshades to re-finish pine that has been stripped of paint. I want something that will sort of hide the tiny little white spots and uneven tones of the pine . . .

black aphids

I think I have black aphids on my rose of sharon bushes in my backyard. It's a major infestation -- every leaf (on the underside) looks black! Anyone know an effective and safe way to get rid of them without having to ban my children from the back yard? They haven't seemed to spread to my other plants.

need a mason?

I need to make a 4" hole in my back brick wall to vent a gas dryer. Who do I use to do this hopefully small and quick job? Thanks.

We had the same problem when we discovered our pocket doors. We went to Simon's Hardware on Bowery (in Chinatown). They sold us something very similar to the missing floor track . . . our contractor also decided to hang our pocket doors from the top -- in addition to letting them run on the track.

Cornetor, he went to your house first and then came to mine -- on Saturday. I would recommend him too!

Hi, I used Nick from Transcend also. Very nice guy, charged us a reasonable price . . . I would definitely use him again.

Sorry, to clarify I didn't mean that the gas unit had two separate vents, I was meaning that the vent from a gas unit is treated very differently (it is considered exhaust) than a electric dryer vent (just hot air).

I agree that the fear of exhaust is overstated, and the 10' to a window rule is extreme, but from the standpoint of the regulations, carbon monoxide seems to kill a couple of people every year in the city, so the rules err on the side of safety.

Put a hard-wired, not plug-in, carbon monoxide detector near the floor somewhere near the dryer.

The co2 thing from gas also applies equally to gas ranges, I think. And many of them are not vented, due to where they are in the building (especially in apartments where the kitchen has been moved.)

You can try Outwater.com. They have loads of odd and esoteric hardware accessories. Friend of mine found a vey hard to find french Door lock there.
