Fallen Tree in My Yard
My backyard neighbor's tree has been dead for as long as I lived in my house. Last night because of the strong winds it broke at the base and has fallen against my healthy tree, which is holding it up. I went to their house and they wont answer their door. It's their tree and I should not have to pay to have it removed what course of action should I take?

Neighbor Tearing My Wall!
We live in a brownstone that pretty much like all brownstones in Brooklyn is right next to the neighbor's. Our next door neighbor has always been doing slight remos here and there but his latest one seems like trouble. He has been hammering as if with a sledge hammer a hole out of his basement to create and egress and regress door. I know he has no permits for this job and he's doing it himself. Our common wall seems to be under stress since we can hear crumbling sounds inside the dry wall. These neighbors have been really difficult and unfriendly, but at the same time we're afraid the retaliation with the BD on our end if we say anything. We need advice...

ADVISE NEEDED ON HOW TO GET RENTERS
We have a beautiful apartment in our brownstone in Bed Stuy for rent. we have rented it before but the renter came through a friend. Now we have it available and have posted ads on craigslist only to have people come in who look like they could be running away from the law. I know it's a pioneering neighborhood for cheap rents but I do see a lot of decent people who rent in our block. Is there any advice anyone would have on how to find a good tenant?

Well The deposit is first month, last month and one month's security that's pretty standard right?

I won't use an agent because I used to be one. Even though there are a lot of agents out there that do a good and professional job there is a large majority that do not. I got to see first hand how people did not care who they showed an apartment to as long as they showed the apartment to meet their quotas and make money. Is not even their fault when they have brokers that push them with crazy numbers to make so that they can keep their desks. The screening process is almost not there. Even if it seems right in theory I rather pocket the money for that extra expense of a brokers fee for somebody I'm going to have to approve in the end anyhow.

Thanks for the guys with the honest advice to the racist that posted that I should advertise on the irish echo shame on you. RAce is not a concern and wait till you rent and have people with guns stuffed in the back of their pants show up to your open house. Cheers denton. Even if you're trying to be funny it just makes a poor commentary on who you are and how you think.
This is all new to us and the real perspectives on renting are appreciated.

We have spoken to the neighbors who own the house from where the tree steams from. They have not retrieved the tree nor contacted us to assure us that they would. We even gave them the number of service that we use to remove one of our dying trees before it hurt our next door neighbors property awhile back. Still nothing. The deal is that yes they knew it was dead and remodeled their backyard leaving it there. The tree is to big (5 stories high) and too wide to push it back and worst it has not finished falling. Just a couple of our branches is holding it from hitting ground or what would be our next door neighbor's house which will break their windows at least...
