When I did my refi in February with Chase, the agent told me that Chase is phasing out HELOCs. My refi sailed through, the appraisal was good but the HELOC terms they offered me kept shifting. Finally the HELOC they offered me was ridiculously expensive and limited to 1/2 the amount I wanted. I bailed and opened one with TD Bank at great terms. If Chase doesn't want your HELOC money, other banks do.

What a monstrous design. I thought that area was landmark status. How can something like that get built there? It's like a college office building destroying the feel of that block. It makes me so sad.

Went into Vin Rouge once and never had a reason to go back. Still it's a shame.

The coffee place next to Buttermilk can't last long either. I hate to see it happen, but the neighborhood is still split between newbies like me and the old guard. The old guard mostly drinks coffee at home and prefers PBR. The poor economy isn't helping me pay for $3 coffee either.

Burning wood or pellets is much less efficient and environmentally friendly than power from the grid. If you're in Bay Ridge, I just can't believe it makes sense with all the added work of stocking fuel.

Yes, they are truly ugly. And, if they are anything like many of the other buildings in the south Slope, the construction will be SHODDY. The roofs will probably leak, the bath fixtures will leak, parts will remain unfinished. The buyers should just file a lawsuit at the closings. Still they'll price in the middle 500s for a 1 bdrm - even in THIS market.

I like #2, though it looks like I'm in the minority. It's unique, interesting and not GREEN, Blue OR RED. The design reminds me of a bike rack and it has a modern, semi-industrial feel which is what your location is about.
