The person responsible for Dept of Parks and Recreation tree plantings in Brooklyn is a wonderful chap named Ian Jack and can be reached at 718-760-6847. He prefers to do entire blocks as he can assign a contractor to do several plantings at once. So contact your neighbors and get their permission to plant and then give Ian a call and tell him you have several plantings on the same block and he will put you in the queue for future plantings.

This whole project was out of scale from the beginning and if any developer wants to build within the context of the surrounding neighborhoods, the community will be very welcoming to reasonable development. We have lived in Prospect Heights for 20 years with that whole in the ground and can live another 20…40 years until someone who engages with the neighborhood comes along and does not ram a monstrosity down our throats and suck taxpayer money from us to line his pockets. Jackasses we will be. Go DDDB!

We have used Ash @ 516-250-3276 and have been satisfied with installing the central A/C in our home.

we signed up for the minimal membership this year and went to the David Bryne concert, sat in the third row behind the $325. ticket section and had a great time. What an awesome show!

call the dept of health if it is a food store as they will always find a reason to shut them down.

A print edition would get outdated very quickly as real time reviews would be great.
What is needed is an easily searchable restaurant guide by cuisine, neighborhood, price, ratings, and links to other site reviews. All this should have dates so one can see when the reviews were posted and is the food getting better or getting worse.
Google maps to see where the place is, restaurant website link to see their menu.
Also it would be great to solicit feedback in an easy to use template on a Monday to have people post reviews on where they ate that weekend for reviews to be current and keep the feedback coming in on a regular basis.

I went to grade school here and remember the huge classrooms, high ceilings, wide hallways and the rats running around the dining room on the lower level during lunch. Us kids had no appreciation for a historic building and spent most of the time trashing the place until we moved out in the early '70s into a new school building, which we continued to trash as the school did not really discipline the children who learned there and let chaos rule.

We had radiant heating installed on all 4 floors of our newly renovated PH home and used A & D PLBG LLC Phone: 800-236-0700, 120 EVERGREEN AV BKLYN NY 11206. They did a terrific job.
We had spoken to several plumbers about radiant heating in our research and most of them tried to talk us out of it as they had no clue on how to install it and wanted us to go with traditional heating options which is what they were comfortable with. We are glad we stuck with radiant heating and found a contractor who engaged A & D Plumbing as part of our overall renovation. The radiant heating price was not broken out separately so I do not know how much it was on its own.
We have used it now for 2 winters and it is very comfortable heating that is distributed throughout each floor (both hardwood and tile floors) as it runs evenly under the floor. It is a pleasure to walk around with bare feet on wood and tile floors, not hearing the constant banging of steam/water pipes. We have also noticed our heating bills have been lower then previous years even with the increase of energy costs.

"If she's a renter, try talking to her landlord."
Good idea. The president of our block association did this after he and I both (separately) confronted a lady who never picks up the crap when her dogs go on our block. She would take them to a tree pit right in front of her building and not pick anything up. When we said something to her about it she'd ignore us. Our block assn. prez told her landlord about it and....it stopped.

If she's in a private home you could always relocate the poop to her stoop.
Sorry, but I think your dog dropped this back there so we wanted to make sure we returned it to you!

I used to have a problem with people not cleaning up after their dogs in front of my house, and it drove me up the wall. I purchased a small sign online that simply says "Please clean up after your dog." It works & people have respected that. I've never had to clean my sidewalk in the nearly two years since I affixed the sign to my fence.

If you know where she lives - pick up the said poop and smear it on her doorknob.

Modsquad, the owner should be hosed, not the dog.

"@rob - i just mentioned the dogs because theyre BIG dogs and their shits are HUGE. if it was a chihuahua, i would say its a chihuahua."
Q, trying to disguise your breedism under this cover simply won't fly. As Rob said, there was no need to mention the breed. Poor pups, they can't help it. In the future, to avoid defaming pitbulls, simply pick up all the poop and put it on a scale. You can then advise us of the weight of said poop without having to resort to breedism.
Future breedism coming from you will be reported to Mr. B., and Rob will poop on your facebook page.

We had a similar situation on our block with a youngish owner of a pit bull who let his dog crap all over the block and never pick it up (I have seen him on several occasions sneaking around the block as to not be seen letting his dog crap everywhere) and whenever it appeared in front of our house, I would scoop it up and put it right in his doorway (he lived in an apt. house on the block) and guess what? I have not seen dog poop in front of our home for a few years now.
