rob,

you are so right about that.

you couldn't pay me to live with my sister, we get along so much better living apart!

d_h

my point is basically that the sisters, purportedly paying to their father can't afford it. it is still a loan, whether it is a bank or a father lending the money.

guyincognito:

you nailed it.

how can it make any sense as tybur6 points out, the numbers dont add up.
how is that any different than banks making mortgages to people that can't afford the monthly payments?

and let's face it, two adult sisters living together will eventually blow up in their faces!

I am going to have to agree with eh and Ditmas, persevere entails prevailing against unbeatable odds. these girls are just lucky to have a father that can enable them this opportunity.

not that I need to begrudge them, but come on.
although there renting situation wasnt great, I am sure all of us know people that have lived in much worse rental/ landlord situations.

and the minus side to owning, is that when things break, you have to take money and effort to fix things yourself. how can they be sure they will be able to afford to pay for things, or will they have to run to daddy?

Yuck, I used to live across the street in a rental apartment.
I can honestly say that my breathing has improved since I moved away. and that unsightly tall building is being built next door, bringing a rodent problem to the block.

good luck getting this sold. it's a bit of a walk from the f train at carroll st, and the walk from smith/9th is depressing and not too safe at night.

count me in!

it is cool, historical, with lots of character!

cw it is a coop.

but i will say this: would it kill the broker to post a floorplan, and if that is a one bedroom the price is rather ridiculous.

Wow, I have to say, this house looks lovely.
so much space.

Seems like the kind of house that someone would have money to afford, especially with the great location.

It should sell for close to asking.

As a native nyc-er, I hate to say it but sometimes things are ridiculous.

It shouldn't be an issue to drink a beer on your stoop, gated or not.

I think we all know the police could be spending their time on more important problems.

Oh Frederick,

The kind of person that would purchase this house, isnt putting down 20%, they would have a higher percentage if not 100%.

As far as rent, this is prime bk heights so the owner is sure to make several thousand a month for the apartment.

I will second you on that, shillstoner.

Looks nice enough but it isn't a 2 bedroom.

If the info says it is being delivered vacant, does that mean the house is divided into apartments?

If so, this price makes the house especially overpriced, considering the amount of work needed. At least it has updated electrical wiring.

Certainly the house is quite lovely.
And I imagine that some people might still be able to afford it.
The one thing that seems weird to me is the master bathtub being in a walk-in closet.

It is a nice apartment. but I have to agree that the maintenance is high, considering no doorman, or any special amenities.

I am always annoyed when floorplans are not included, especially since people are saying that the layouts are problematic.

I won't say too much, except that she was the broker for the seller.

Luckily I had my own wonderful broker, and found a much better apartment! But I hate that she wasted my time.

This is a beautifully staged house, and seems very lovely.

I will heartily disagree with Biff though, since I have dealt with this broker and found her to be someone I would not recommend.

The house itself is rather expensive for the market we are dealing with.
