No need to copy my inventory, there are enough lines to go around......

I still am curious about the story of what 189 ocean did to 1985 ocean.......

I was supposed to buy 185 ocean until I got outbid by the developer...

I want to know what I was potentially "saved" from if they are such hellish neighbors!

Thanks!

Everytime Brownstoner blogs about this parcel I have to chime in.......

I was supposed to buy the house!! I signed the contract after I won the supposed "Best and Final Offer".

Next thing I know this idiot developer offers $200,000 more than what I signed contract for....they had not yet signed the contract and I was out $500 in lawyers fees.

This house was so CUTE! Right across from the park, I loved it!

Anyways....Carroll Gardens is a dream location compared to Ocean Ave....but this detached house on the park was SWEET!

Not sure if the effects are similiar, but methadone is almost FREE! So the crowd going there will be more fun I am sure than those asshats with money!

oh yeah........that block is so quiet and quaint. An oyster bar would have ruined it. I agree, how dare they think of doing such a thing. The bar they have on the corner already is so wild with the wet tshirt contests and all, almost disturbing the quaintness.

A methadone clinic I would vote for!

A methadone clinic would be perfect! Who can afford oysters these days anyways.... free government sponsored drug use is so much better!

I own a house on this block and agree that it is one of the best blocks in crown heights. We moved to carroll gardens after our first kid. The neighborhood is not as kid friendly as others.....But the block is great! I remember the summer of the black out, being pregnant and walking my 3 dogs at 4am! I was never scared and loved spying on the crack houses that used to be there..just walking by, not really spying!! Not anymore.....now it is a historic block!

The Childrens Museum is a couple blocks away...and the train is so close!

I loved that house!! But I love Carroll Gardens far more. It was a toss up as to live on Prospect Park would have been amazing, but the community in Carroll Gardens and PS 58 can not be beat. It gave my partner Gennaro the opportunity to do a full on green renovation as the house was is disrepair. Anyways...what the developer did was SAD! That house was so cute and that block has such landmark character. I would have been lucky to live in and raise my family. But I can not complain as nothing beats my daughter and I each hopping on our respective scooter for the 1 min. ride to school. BUT that house was so CUTE and at $930,000 it was a great deal depending on how you look at it! Just another house on the list of many that got away......I have a huge list of those. But this one I was out $700 as I wasted time signing the contract and paying my lawyer!

I had signed the contract to buy the house before the other side pulled out and went with the developer. I was in contract for $930,000.00. I was so excited to preserve it and live in it with my family. Too bad for me! I still think about it but instead bought this house in carroll gardens.

I will check it out today as I am going to visit Dr. Michael Mazza in pediatrics located on 7th floor. They still have offices up there! I thought everyone got booted but they have not. Looking forward to shots for the kids and great views.

You would have been looking elsewhere for flooring had I found that dumpster before you! Good find and good luck with your renovation.

I really don't get what the real estate agency has to do with the dumpster or problems in construction.

I love Cocorean's way of pumping up prices. Can't wait to hear she goes bankrupt and is forced to go back to being a waitress.

RE: "I really don't get what the real estate agency has to do with the dumpster or problems in construction. "

It was an artistic stretch on my part since there is a big sign on it by Corcoran. But there is a connection. The properties are owned and being sold by a couple. The gentleman who I met is the designer and builder and the woman is a Corcoran agent. From the little I know. But the wood might be from another of their properties. Who cares, I'm just grateful they didn't want the wood.
