dave - I was being a little facetious and sarcastic. What type of valuable information could he possibly add to any topic. On the other hand you always have something insightful to say.

What - I would love to hear your thoughts on Staten Island. I live there and I think it's a great place to buy a house and raise a family. I'm very interested on your views on this topic.

Everything is going to be alright. No need for all the animosity. Why so much hatred from you WHAT?

I totally agree with you bayridgegirl. I go to Ralph's Ices on SI almost every day. It is extremely refreshing and addicting. You're very close to SI...you should try it out. It's on Port Richmond Avenue.

Dave - well in fact they actually do have a great italian ice place called Ralph's Ices. Not trying to start anything either! Have you ever been there because you should try it; my treat.

Jackslope - How dare you be so condescending towards Staten Island...j/k.
Staten Island has it all; affordable housing, great schools, parks, shopping, dining and as Jackslope witnessed firsthand, great musical talent. They even take part in this new frozen yogurt trend...blah, blah, blah.

I want to see a show of hands. How many of you bloggers can genuinely say, they are able to afford a house at this price? You might as well live in Manhattan for $1000 a square ft.

daveinbedstuy,
Why would I buy an ad for the house I live in. Now that would be a waste of money. I'm just trying to show my great borough some love. I don't know why I'm getting attacked.

Great...when you thought it couldn't get any worse in Brooklyn with overly high priced housing, the aristocrats have to push their way in and make it worse.
This only reinforces the fact that moving to Staten Island is the most logical answer for the residents of Brooklyn.
Instead of throwing away your money renting a small apartment in BK, you can own your own property for three times the size, which is one of the best investments a person can make. To throw in the trump card, residents have their own parking space, safer surroundings and good public schools to say the least.
Forget all the uptight aristocrats that are invading your neighborhoods with their million dollar CASTLES, and come relax at my humble abode across the bridge on my nice peaceful island. Now tell me that doesn't sound tempting.
Advice of the Day: You only live once; but if you do it right, once is enough.

It was worth a shot :) Trying to show some Staten Island pride. My goal on here is to add some humor to these blog threads, so people don't go A-Wall and kill each other. There is way too much tension going on here. Enjoy life people!!!

11233- I think it's about time you moved to Staten Island. Apparently the other boroughs didn't work out well for you, since you had to try them all. Wrap it up and add the 5th borough to your list...you might be surprised.

Wowww; such animosity between people over a piece of land. Jeeze...can you honestly say you care if someone chooses to live in Bed Stuy. It's not the end of the world...find a girl or a hobby and keep yourself occupied because it seems like everyone is about to have a nervous breakdown.

Smatchums - It's great to find someone on the Brownstoner that actually accepts and appreciates SI. It's a breath of fresh air!!! Good luck with your search. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I will be on my way now ladies and gents. Have fun blogging mates...don't do or say anything I wouldn't.
Advice of the day: Listen to music because it makes the world a much peaceful and better place

NY Native - I already live on Staten Island. I think you are mistaken me for Smatchums. I know the area that Smatchums is moving to on the South Shore of Staten Island and it is a beautiful neigborhood. More than half the houses in the Opal community have been developed and sold even in the tough market we are in right now.
I like that quote...I can't agree with you more. Anyone who has cash right now should invest in the real esate and stock market because you can find great bargains everywhere. It's those people who were smart and brave enough to invest in the Stock market after it crashed in 1929, who made a fortune in the years to follow. People should capitalize on a down market.
