What,
Also remember in the original ending to the movie you like to quote that the end Capt' Willard calls in the air strike and kills all the natives. Let's hope one of those F-16's finds you.

Hey What,
Why is it you are so immune from any economic crisis.
Your house will hopefully the first to go belly up, how do you know you will never lose your job, or are you very wealthy and just slumming it here on Brownstoner. You don't have the courage to do anything like walk down Fulton at 1:00am, you pine for glory days of the "ghetto", you obviously hate white people. You are totally worthless, the fact that you haven't been banned forever escapes me. You have nothing helpful or incisive to say and it doesn't matter what the topic is about you always turn it to "white[sic] people will die out in 2009.
You are worthless, truly worthless.

I don't care about any crappy 99 cent store or bodega that lets dealers hang out in front. The only history in those blocks are drugs and crime. I want an Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, and a Trader Joe's. You need to remember that Park Slope was like this in the 80's, look where it is now. I can't wait AND WILL WAIT IT OUT.

Less police presence will amount to more crime, but I don't think that the white collar sector losing jobs will. The people that are committing probably 95% of the street crime are already unemployed and like it that way.

I know two people that have had their iphones stolen by these pesky critters. Remember people, keep your guard up, be aware!

williamsburgguy,
Stay in Williamsburg with your "White Guilt"
I have none, and I live in Fort Greene, not Williamsburg

Sam,
Give it a few years, your prediction is wrong. You cannot stop the Manhattan spread and Fort Greene is between Manhattan and Park Slope. Drug addicts and alcoholics will be swept away. I don't know ANYONE who moved here for "daring and danger".

Most intelligent thing you've posted. hahahahahahahaha
Posted by: The When at October 27, 2008 6:39 PM in response to Breaking: Shooting in Fort Greene
One thing I take comfort in is that at least the shooter was chasing someone down, now it's terrifying he opened fire and shot 3 other people! The shooter probably new the target and there were (I'm gonna do it!) drugs, gangs, or stupid male bravado involved. Can't these guys kill each other on the North Side of Myrtle

For the record Dave in Bed-Stuy, your "glad this doesn't happen in Bed-Stuy" comment, where did the suspect allegedly flee to.. Where are the police searching... Not Clinton or Vanderbilt Aves.. Lock your doors tonight.

My last post was a stupid reaction to Xander. It was lame like him.

What do you get when you shoot a kid from Canarsie
Your bike back.

Williamsburgguy,
Cry me a river. These kids suck, but then again who knows the age of the person that did this horrible shooting today. If he's over 21, no excuse or blaming society. ELECTRIC CHAIRS ALL AROUND!!!!

Xander could be one of the most ridiculous people on the net these days. Man, you make Don Imus look like a Saint. By the way, calling this neighborhood a "ghetto" should be a million times more offensive to those who have made this their home for decades, than the newer folks. Xander if you don't live in Fort Greene get your nose out of a discussion about it. I don't ramble on about your apartment in the Farragut Houses. By the way, my neighbor wants his laptop back.

Wadser,
I do understand where you are coming from after your last post, and you do make a lot of sense. Yes the line was grossly stereotyping, but I have had it with the "Get out now or all y'all[sic] all will be dead" comments. I am tired of the crime that is perpetrated by some or perhaps many of the young people residing in the projects. I was at the Green Market on Saturday, which or course serves every different background of person in FG and CH, they had a poster board up to put a dot on of where you live, it was really interesting to see where there were no dots. The part of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill I enjoy has nothing and hopefully will not have anything to do with the North side of the park until it has changed.
Basically, I probably agree with a good deal of what you think (scary but true), but it has been proven time and time again, housing projects tend to breed excessive crime, and I don't think anyone should have to be subjected to it no matter where they choose to live.

Read the beginning of my post Wasder, I agree that this crime has nothing to do with the projects (although I did do my venting about them after words).
And yes I may have ripped his name but am completely opposite of him. I am not ashamed to be a gentrifier or like the gentrification process going on.

I abhor housing projects, especially those known to be riddled with crime, but this isn't the type I would relate specifically to projects. This isn't petty thievery, muggings or drug dealing.
And I agree with TD, I live in Clinton Hill and I have every right to bitch about Housing Projects, I own my home, so in my not so humble opinion, I have a lot more say in the neighborhood than some freeloading project dwellers.
With the city about to start losing money due to rising housing costs and the flattening economy, it will be no time before they will start selling off housing projects in nicer neighborhoods. I can't wait.
Yes, I am callus but I don't care.

The When wrote a review about Olea on September 9, 2008 1:27 PM
One of my favorite restaurants in all of New York. Great atmosphere, great food. We more often than not skip the tapas and go for the en trees. The oysters are fresh and the whole fish and steak are great. Staff is wonderful also.
Yes, I agree. There were people here long before the French and Dutch, but not the people now claiming this is as their rightful neighborhood are nuts, or need to read a history book.

The times they are a changing. I keep waiting for the Dutch and French to return, Brooklyn is rightfully theirs.

"Leticia James is irrelevant"
So true, it wasn't until good old Marty Markowitz stepped in that we got any help from the police force to help curb the summertime crime wave.
I will not forget the "Better take some self defense classes" comment she made.
Sorry, that's off topic.
I tell you this though, I'm going to protest that next church bake sale!!!! HA!

The flea market is a great addition to the neighborhood. I live right down the street from it and it's nice to see a friendly vibe in the air. The shops and restaurants really benefit from it. The church members have shown their ignorance and intolerance in their words at the meeting. Hypocrites!
I agree with everything that "Jack" said in his post, remember you can't buy if no one is selling.
And to The What: Your "Apocalypse Now" reference,
Don't forget that in the alternate ending Capt. Willard does call in the airstrike and kill all the natives.
Your war is at an end....

Hey What,
I just reviewed all your recent posts, really why do you come here..
If it is to elicit reactions out of hard working people like me you are a freaking champ. Seriously you only have negative things to say, and that got me furious I guess that you win... Your rants got me.
Hey Brownstoner,
With Asses like the What here I'm gone from this site forever,
He doesn't win, but you actually lose, I won't know of anything you guys are planning.
Actually that really means What =1 Brownstoner = 0
Sad but true.
I will not revisit this site with miscreants him stirring up trouble during the discussion of serious issues.
What,
Go ahead and let lose on me, I won't be here to see it, please address it ti Mr. Brownstoner.
