Picture Framing

Howdy... Can anybody recommend a good picture framing place? Somebody who can do a nice and simple matte and frame for a largish lithograph?

I'd prefer a place in the Slope, but I am willing to travel if you know somebody who does particularly good work at a decent price.

Thanks!

Well, I don't know about that, but the bf did buy his bathroom hardware there. The Spritz Collection in satin stainless steel.

That tub looks a lot like the "Palais Pedestal Soaking Tub" from Restoration Hardware.

I bought an apartment building with rent stabilized tenants. Of course the purchase price reflected that fact, but yet I will whine about it endlessly on the Internet.

ROTW, darling, you obviously lost it years ago.

Epithet, not epitaph. If you are going use fancy words, use the right ones.

An epitaph appears on a gravestone. Yours, for example, might read: "The war ended. I lost."

Perhaps because he is using it in an explanatory rather than derogatory context?

Oh, I forgot, you don't do context.

Because he is too busy planning the city-wide banning of high fructose corn syrup, scheduled for his richly deserved third term. Emphasis on rich.

I'm guessing that nobody will actually refer to it as Barclay's Station, sort of like how nobody but tourists says "Avenue of the Americas."

So you have to give up 1/2 of the house to cover 1/3 of the mortgage?

Sweet deal!

Zing!

Too many little "rooms" and an awkward layout. The hinges, however - as pointed out above - are nice.

I like the look of a lot of CB2 stuff, but be sure to check it out in person. Much of the construction quality seems to be a bit shoddy.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of that. It makes the front of the building look like the back.

Posted by: SnarkSlope at June 22, 2009 3:35 PM in response to Development Watch: 614 7th Avenue

The top three floors look good, but that bottom floor entrance is a bit unfortunate. Perhaps a better light fixture and some other gussying up would help.

I'm just glad to see something happening with this building. That parking lot had been accumulating garbage for years.

SnarkSlope wrote a review about City Sub on June 19, 2009 12:15 PM

I used to go here all the time when I lived in Prospect Heights. The subs were always tasty and generously proportioned.

Of course Rob has never been in that store. This lack of first hand knowledge will not - as we all know by now - stop him from making his inane pronouncements.

The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, and they have some very nice stuff there. The bf bought a kilim and a couple of pillows there. I'm contemplating buying a rug there myself for my new place.

I went twice (once for bunch and once for dinner), but was disappointed both times.

Bland food, lackluster service, and overpriced to boot.

No, this house, like every other commodity, is worth what somebody else is willing to pay for it. In this case, it was about 40% less than the original asking price.
