in need of old sink!

We are renovating our pre-war apt. and need a 1930's sink like the one pictured. Specifically it must be on 2 metal legs (a pedestal will not work b/c of the drain location). Anyone out there have any ideas about where to find one (and quickly? We are willing to get it sprayed.

Floor Sander Recommendation

I want to highly recommend our floor guy, Hugo. We bought an apartment with huge issues including a beautiful kitchen floor covered with 3 layers of glue from old linoleum. He painstakely got our floors into beautiful condition staying on time and budget (although there were some stains in our BR and if we wanted to cover them we would of had to pay more for the staining process). My husband also used him for a commercial job and he was just as good.

We are trying to decide b/w the Franke FF-200 and the newer FFPS200. We have used the FF-200 and loved it but wondering about the newer version... anyone out there have it?

Width for Counter Top

We are trying to decide on counter tops for a new kitchen. We are looking at couple different types of granite and were told the standard witdth is 1.25 inch. It seems awfully thick to me. We heard the old standard was 0.75 which seems just fine. (It is a small kitchen and I am worried the new standard thickness will look very heavy). Any suggestion with places to go that will adjust thickness and do fabrication/ install etc.? Or any insight on just keeping my trap shut and sticking w the standard?
Thanks!

Range Suggestions (Part 2)

We are renovating a kitchen and have begun looking at ranges. From the suggestions given to me on a previous post we have looked at the bluestar, wolf, viking, etc. We LOVE the wolf but just aren't sure if we'd really need it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a step or two down that they really like? We saw an electrolux without all the eletrical components and the GE cafe. Also, we are in an apt. and although it is a bigger kitchen (10x20) we would have a duct-less hood. Please help, we have to order soon!

Range Suggestions

We are thinking of renovating our kitchen and want suggestions on ranges. We cook many evenings and will spend a bit. Our only spec is it must be 30" as the kitchen is not that big. We have heard viking are good but break often and GE monogram are nice. Any tips out there?

I think something is up with this building. Has anyone checked the finicials? There are currently 3 apts for sale and they are all low (we just sold a 1 BR across Ocean Pkwy for more then this). Anyway, something seems fishy to me.

We LOVE Brooklyn Doghouse! Have been using them for 3 yrs when we go on trips, days away and regularly once a week if we work a long day etc. Highly recommend them but there are no fancy extras like webcams.

We also ordered our appliances from J&R and can highly recommend them. We looked at PC Richards then ordered from them. We got the Pro Electrolux 30" and have to say its probably just as good as the regular but we wanted the look too. That being said we LOVE it. We also considered the GE cafe which got highly recommended on consumer reports but we found the construction a little shoddy.

We are looking for a 30".... I don't really know if 5k is where we need to spend our $ at the moment for a wolf. but am totally not sure what would be the next step. I liked that electrolux.... did you get the microwave with it?

The blue star top looked very hard to clean so that is out. We also liked the Electrolux... guywithahouse, where did you buy?

what's the address?

Posted by: Rocketjen at July 14, 2009 7:10 PM in response to Searching ACRIS for Co-op Info?

You CAN look up individual info in ACRIS but it is by name and you'll need to look within each doc to see apt. #. Once you are within the buildings docs you can see each transaction listed by each parties name. However, what we have found is after a couple of years it does not show price. First things first though you'll need lot and block which you can determine by entering address.

If you are looking at a pro range, there is a good possibility that the kitchen will get very hot, with the burners on high, and no range hood venting. If you're not planning on using all that horsepower, consider a range with only a couple of powerful burners. Shop features over brands. I also like a range that has sealed burners (keeps things tidy) and low 'simmer burners' so you can simmer without burning, or worse yet, having that flickering little flame blow out. GE profile is a good way to go, as well as Kitchenaid.
